Idk between mk8 or pokemon sw/sh...
Both can be really fun, but i want something that has replayable value... i think mk8 might get boring eventually, (we have mk8 in the family switch, but its not fun in single player because joycon drift :( ) and pokemon is too expensive and eats up most of my space. (I have enough money tho...) Which one should i get?

Might I recommend Pokemon Let's Go Eevee/Pikachu instead of Sword and Shield. It doesn't have expensive DLC that contains stuff that should have been in the game from the start, it has better graphics and overall quality imo.

I would advise against Sword and Shield entirely for literally any other Pokémon game. Not that they're all necessarily good, so much as Sword/Shield are just quite bad.

But while I haven't played Mario Kart 8, I would personally choose it over every Pokémon title for the Switch released so far. Though you may also wish to save your money for when the new Pokémon Snap comes out.

Sword and Shield are pretty mediocre, though they're not as bad as Let's Go Pikachu/Evee.

MK8 is solid tho.

While I am of the firm belief that SwSh is NOT a terrible game, I would say you’ll get more bang for your buck with going to MK8D. I would suggest trying out the vanilla game of SwSh eventually (can’t vouch for the DLC because there’s nothing there to hook me).

Mario Kart 8! Game is fun and still popular online! I wouldn't get Pokemon Sword/Shield because many people said it gets boring after a while and the story isn't long enough so it can get boring when there is nothing else to do besides catching Pokemon which is like most pokemon games only this time the story doesn't last. And finally, because it's not good as other Pokemon games and also another reason is that it's too easy and not much of a challenge.

I would just get MK8 for now because like I said it's popular online, family game, good racecourses, a lot of racers to play as, and the battles are fun.

as someone who has both, pokemon any day. personally don't understand the general unbridled dislike for it online but maybe that's because i've only played alpha sapphire and later. yes, all pokemon should've been in the base game and the wild area is definitely lacking in terms of design/appearance but that's more or less it and they're hardly game-breaking issues.

MK8 on the other hand... big regret. i wish i hadn't bought it. maybe it's because i originally had it on the Wii U but imo the switch lite controls for it are trash and i felt cheated when i learned that all the characters (and maybe even courses, i don't remember for sure) were unlocked from the start which i don't think they were on Wii U. definitely wished i'd just saved my money for whenever MK9 is a thing. i haven't played it once since the first week i downloaded it from the eshop. considered it today ironically but then remembered how bad the drifting/steering was to control rip.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe provided me much greater long-term enjoyment than Pokemon Sword/Shield. I don't hate Sword/Shield, but I've come to agree with the consensus that it's a mediocre game. It has some redeeming qualities that still make it fun like the Dynamax raids, wild area, camping, etc. but overall it's not the quality we've come to expect from Pokemon games. As someone who actually wanted to get back into competitive it just seems so pointless with only having 3 Pokemon to choose from combined with the Dynamax. The Dynamax kills the competitive aspect for me personally. The matchmaking in general is really frustrating to me. Like I want to do 2v2 with a friend on my team facing two randoms. Not have to get a full party of 4 to battle. They already have the Dynamax raids set up to find other people so it makes no sense to me whatsoever.

I owned Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U and played it for years and then bought the Deluxe version on the Switch which I have also been playing for a couple years now. I did get a good chunk of hours out of Pokemon Sword/Shield, but that's only because I was hatching and grinding Dynamax raids trying to get good Pokemon. In the end, it all comes down to your personal preference. If you're interested in Sword/Shield for the story experience I suggest not getting it. If you're interested in the gameplay elements like the dynamax battles/raids, camping/cooking, catching shinies, etc. I would say it's worth a go.

Of those, 8 Deluxe even though (imo) it's one of the worse MK in the series (I'd say regular 8 is worse though).

I definitely suggest getting Tricky Towers or Splatoon 2, though!

For me I would choose Pokémon Sw/Sh. I personally don’t like playing Mk by myself. But since Pokémon is single player, I feel that it’s perfect for the switch lite
