So, I recently had Flora move in, and it turns out she has one of the weirder houses in the game:

(not my pic, too lazy to take one RN, lol)
But it TOTALLY cracked me up! I love learning about animals and I know flamingos are super social- to the point where, if one needs to be taken to a vet for surgery or something, they'll put mirrors up to make them THINK there are other flamingos (they're social, but not necessarily that bright). So I love that Flora has her own little "flock" to make her feel more comfortable in her home ☺

And so now I'm wondering- what small details about villagers have made you say, "Oh, now THAT'S cute!"?

Marina always having a toilet is funny to me. I think it started in New Leaf and has continued in New Horizons and Pocket Camp. I've read it might be because of being an octopus and expelling ink lol

I’m not sure if this happened in previous games, but I love the little tail wiggle villagers do when you greet them (specifically squirrels). It’s just so adorable?!
Ohmygosh, yes! For some reason it seems more pronounced on birds in this game- I moved Plucky in (I have her Amiibo) 'cause I had a villager I was SO sick of and wanted out. And the first time she greeted me and that tail wiggled... I fell in love. While I eventually moved her out (I do with all my villagers), I currently have Ava, who'll likely be a long term resident (after all, if she moves, who will tend her farm?)
But I totally agree- the tail wiggles are just too preciou 😍

I... never knew it was a tradition, but that's hilarious 🤣

That reminds me of another detail about octopuses! I remember seeing someone complain that their beach footprints were just normal footprints. Well, I had Marina on my beach, and decided to double-check. Her footprints were, indeed, pretty normal looking- just small and round. It seemed boring until I realized... those are sucker prints! Not only are they smaller and rounder than normal footprints, they looked like there were more and they were closer together. Once I realized that I thought it was SO CUTE!

That's a really good observation! When I had Marina I even had her house on the the beach and I never noticed that.

I honestly don't think I would've noticed had someone not complained, lol. I just remember thinking, "That doesn't seem right..." because it seemed EVERY villager species has fitting footprints (like pawprints or hoofprints or... bird feet prints, IDK what you'd call those, lol)

My favourite villager and birthday twin Claudia was a random move in on my island! She was also really supportive when I told her I wasn't sure what career I wanted. Not all of the ACNH dialogue is great but I really needed that at the time :)

I remember this last year. When it was my birthday Cherry said Happy Birthday to me and she called me "Buddy" I teared up when she said that and it just made my day so much better.

I like it when they sit and work out behind the stalls. It's both cute and funny because on one hand they're calm and then suddenly hardcore.

Can you imagine trying to buy fresh produce and the vendor is pumping iron vigorously? I'd be like "alright, it's time to go home", lol.

Kyle's house is fun because it's bare sheet metal and cardboard furniture. Pretty fitting, I'd say.

So many things. The fact that they get easily distracted is adorable. Like you’re going to be in the middle of yoga or a performance and go water a flower??? okay lol

I also love some of their expressions they really do go through the emotions even when just sitting under a tree.

I always pan the camera to the side when i’m leaving Bones’ house because the little tail wag when they’re smiling and saying bye is so cute!

A lot of things villagers do make me smile constantly every time I catch them doing something. I love how expressive villagers are now and overall how they're much more aware of their surroundings, and how they interact with the world around them. They feel very much alive.

Villagers look around as they walk, observe flowers, sit under trees or by the river contemplating life, read a book, greet each other, and in general are so easily distracted by the wonders of life, such as a butterfly or grasshopper ☺️

I really enjoy the little details such as pigs and dogs' ears flopping about as they move their head, how villagers follow you with their eyes, the tail waggles of anteaters, chickens, squirrels... It's just so cute!

Some of the things they do were already introduced in NL, such as actively trying to catch bugs and interacting with PWPs (and now furniture placed outside) but NH took it to a whole other level which I really appreciated.

Also, TOE BEANS! 💖🐾

I love how they will get super distracted in the middle of singing and bopping to a song- Tangy I'm talking about you queen.

She did it today- She was singing and suddenly whipped out her phone. Started signing again, then 10 seconds later she was chasing a bug.
I honestly love her. 😂

This.

I currently don't have any villagers with music hobbies (Tex just moved in though so now I have one), so I placed a radio on the plaza just to hear them sing. I try my best to catch any insect that go near them but they still get distracted by the bench nearby. 🙃
