You know, I'm just very weirded out.
A couple of days ago, someone on the Gamefaqs was going to sell Static for 2 mil. That was really cheap for Static! But I've already got him, so I decided to gift him to someone on this forum instead of letting Gamefaqs nab him.
So I go do a quick search through the new villager plaza and find a user who says the want Static. I ask if they have room and want a free Static, they seem rather excited and I set up the deal for me to go to this person's town to pay along with the TBT user to collect him.
I connect, say hi to the Host, and TBT user comes in-DISCONNECT.
Alright... Sorry about that, let's try again. I connect again, sorry Host, TBT user starts to connect-DISCONNECT.
Well that's a tad annoying. Third time's a charm, can't always control a disconnect though, no harm done. We try the third and final time successfully.
So we go, TBT user talks to and convinces Static to move in. Awesome, feelin' good. Time to pay. I go and drop all my bells for the payment, and TBT user grabs my last bell bag and drops a tweeter.

They then pick up their tweeter and drop the bell bag again. Okay then, all's well... Time to end, Gamefaqs host!
"Look's like it's time to go home!"............. Didn't work. Okay, try again, lol.
"Look's like it's time to go home!"............. *Notice TBT user in open inventory pose. Hey close inventory.
"Look's like it's time to go home!"............. Seriously, close your inventory. I'm ready to leave and I just gave you something neat for free... *keeps switching hats and shirt or something
"Look's like it's time to go home!"............. I'M SORRY HOST. I don't know why they're doing this. TBT user takes off, I follow to keep an eye. They try hiding in between some trees and start switching hats again. Okay that's not cool, close your inventory. Host, please end again.
"Look's like it's time to go home!"............. They take off yet again and hide behind a building this time. FINALLY, host catches them with inventory shut and instead of all going well-DISCONNECT. Are you kidding me.
Back on Gamefaqs the host posts, "I think I just got scammed...." I hop on there and tell them I have no idea what TBT user was doing that for and that since it disconnected, they didn't get Static anyway. But I asked the Host to remove TBT user so I could go back and pay anyway for the annoyance and to just give Static to someone else.
That's the last time I try to set something up across boards. AND the last time I offer something like that to someone I've not dealt with before or seen on the boards. The TBT user didn't have a HIGH wifi rating, but it was 100% so I had no worries about it.
It really kinda made me sad that someone would act that way when they were receiving a gift at no cost to them. :/ The past is past, but my lesson is learned.
