Hello! I was wondering, since (I'm assuming) most of you on here LOVE the Animal Crossing series, what is your history with it? Has it been a positive experience? I know there are definitely ups and downs, but there's always something that keeps us playing!

For instance, I started playing in January of 2008, when my brother got a GCN for his birthday. The system came with Animal Crossing, and though I had never heard of it before, I decided to play it. I named my town ranter (for whatever reason... it legit started with a lowercase letter as if it wasn't a proper noun.) Now, 8 1/2 years later, I still have the same town, but all of my original villagers are gone... ^^" I still play it even now, and I will probably play it until I wear it out.

I also got Wild World in June 2008, around my birthday, and I got City Folk on January 1st, 2009. I haven't played these games much, but I do have a lot of memories (and pictures) with AC:CF. Since I got Wild World, I have remade my town, but I still have my old town in CF.

I got New Leaf on May 27, 2014, about 2 weeks before my 15th birthday. I had a lot of fun with it, until my town corrupted on July 25, 2015. I made a new town 3 days later, and I didn't really start playing it again until about February of 2016. Now it is, once again, a thriving town, but I still miss my old one dearly... :'(

Since I started playing it forever ago, it is now my favorite game series next to the Super Mario series. It has made me laugh, made me cry, even made me mad sometimes. But overall, my experience with this game could definitely benefit me in so many ways (and on so many emotional levels. ; v; ) I certainly hope that Nintendo makes another game, because I will buy it!

Sorry this post is so lengthy... what was your experience with Animal Crossing?

It was only a year and a half ago that I discovered Animal Crossing even existed, and so I don't have much of a history with the series.
Up until a few years ago I was still playing the SNES and the N64 (all mario games). My brother moved out and took our old systems with him. So I had to find another way to get my Nintendo fix.
I decided to get a nintendo 3ds, not knowing its game library. I started to research games on the system and eventually camed acrossed new leaf. I watched some videos of it on youtube and decided to give it a try. Now I've been playing it for the last 16 months.
So I've never played the original AC nor ACWW given that I've never had the gamecube or the DS. I recently got to play city folk but haven't really gotten into it.
For the last 16 months I have enjoyed playing new leaf and am glad that I got to discover such a great game. Out of my limited experience it's been my favourite AC game so far.

I used to play WW but nothing like I play new leaf. I did like a lot of aspects from it but I never really got into it until this game. I guess I like the idea of running the town and placing PWP's and what not. Plus I love the fact they added smug villagers. They are one of my favourite personalities now. I guess there's just more to do and in my opinion you can feel more a part of the town and what's going on, as oppose to wild world.

I didn't get new leaf until late last year, so way after release date. I wasn't sure I wanted it but kept reading good reviews and the changes since WW and thought I'd give it a go. I joined this forum a couple of months later and discovered how easy it would be to get my dreamies. Had never bothered with forums for games before, very glad I did. Have played pretty much every day for the last 9 months or so, except last month when I took a break.

I used to play Wild World, and I absolutely adored it. It was one of the first games that I played on my DS, and I invested hours into it...I was a bit too young to completely understand it, but I loved it nonetheless, and loved it even more everytime I discovered something new.

I got New Leaf on its North American release date, and out of the two games, New Leaf is my favourite. It's been a positive experience so far, even though I'm now not as in love with it as I was the first day I got it, since I've practically seen everything.

I got the 1st animal crossing on game cube for christmas in 2004 or 5? and it was by far the best present I got! I think the only game I liked as much was Zelda: Wind Waker. I didn't get new leaf until sometime in 2014 because I wasn't allowed to have any handheld devices for some reason... So I bought it myself when I turned 18 and had the money!

The first animal crossing game I got was Wild World. I loved it and because I was a kid at a time.. And didn't know how to read fully... They asked me what town I was going to and I wrote "to sweet" like an idiot and my town has been called "to sweet" in wild world lol.
I loved the game and always wanted city folk but never actually got it.. because I didn't have money for a Wii.
Later on I got a 3DS and New Leaf and it was okay I guess I left it and cameback to it this year honestly I prefer Wild World way more.

All of these people have these super deep and nice relations with animal crossing wow. Its unfortunately just a game to me which is really sad to say. Of course the game made me happy, I got to run my own town and stuff. But I was always paying attention to buying rare things and items when I played it as a kid. Now that I'm a little bit older I understand what this game means to people. I hope I can experience this game like them as I get older!
