So a lot of people, myself included, want e+ exclusive villagers to be featured in the next main AC game, and I was thinking - what would their English names end up being if they were featured in a new AC game? Same goes for Carmen the mouse and Marcy from GC; they probably wouldn't keep either of those names. So I'm curious to see what people can brainstorm for potential names for those villagers! Here's what I came up with:
Meow and Bow - remain the same; I don't see a reason to change them and not sure what else they could really be changed to.
Clara, Pierre, and Joe - remain the same; they're reasonable names that suit the villagers and I could see them sticking around if they return.
Aisle - Calhoun; name meaning "from the narrow forest"; suitable for bears and I think it suits his appearance. Also really like Silas ("of the forest").
Analogue - Jaice; ends in -ice and I think it sounds pretty cool.
Carmen (mouse) - Rosaline; elegant name that matches her pink colour scheme.
Carrot - Alani; name meaning "orange tree" and she's orange so
Champagne - Candide; similar to canine and I think cranky villagers would also be pretty candid.
Fruity - Blake; the name means both "dark" and "fair-haired" for some reason, and Fruity is both of those. Also the ending -lake, which makes it triple-match!
Gen - Drover, which means someone who drives sheep or cattle.
Jubei - Jermane for the -mane ending.
Kit - Juniper; a cute tree name that I think matches him pretty well. Also like Cory (for Corylus, a genus including hazel and filbert).
Koharu - Adelaide because of the Australia connection.
Lulu (anteater) - Saidi; literally not based on anything, I just think it's a cool name that just really fits her.
Madam Rosa - Jolanda - name meaning "violet". Also considered just shortening her name to Rosa, but I made Carmen into Rosaline so I wanted her to be different.
Marcy - Jill; apparently one of the terms for a female kangaroo.
Masa - Garrison; a word referring to troops defending a town/fortress which kind of relates to how dogs guard their homes and stuff. And it's an actual name, apparently.
Megumi - Aleisha. As in aLEASHa. I've been waiting to use that pun forever. Plus I think it suits her appearance and personality well.
Nindori - Struthio; a genus of birds including ostriches, and Nintendo doesn't seem to mind handing out bizarre names (looking at Broffina).
Nobuo - Nicaise; similar to Lulu-Saidi in that I just picked a name that I thought matched him. There's got to be a lot of great penguin things I'm missing but I couldn't think of any. Oh well.
Patricia - Patrice; Patricia's a good name, but to me, Patrice is a variation that feels a little more modern and perky, so I think that might suit her better.
Petunia (rhino) - Fleur because of the giant flower on her head.
Pironkon - Alastair because of the al- beginning.
Poko - Oberon; name meaning "noble/bearlike".
Shinabiru - Reid because of reeds.
Shoukichi - Orville; connection with flight even though it's probably not the best name for him.
Sunny - Nixie; name meaning "water nymph", while Raina might be a good alternative.
Tarou - Ralphie; name meaning "wolf-counsel" and I think the -ie ending suits his cute design.
Verdun - Zebulon for no reason except it has "bul" in it.
Yeah, so a lot of these are pretty dreadful, but I'm curious to see what names you guys have in mind for some or all of these!
