What would you think about having an airport in the game?

Since there was a thread about driving a car in the game, I figured I'd make a thread about this.
Would you be in support or opposed to the idea of having an airport in Animal Crossing? I don't know specifically for what purpose flying on a plane could be used for in the game, but come on, let's be creative and have ideas for it!

I think it could be really interesting in that you use the plane & airport as a means to travel to and fro different player villages!
Though I guess the good ol animal village might have to turn into a city, because I don't know that many villages with their own airports

I'm not sure the game really needs a plane. As a transportation option, we already have trains to take us to other towns. It could possibly be used for a mountain area that I have talked about in the past, but I think ski-lifts would make more sense there. I guess there could be some sort of minigame that involves flying a plane, but any gameplay would probably be really clunky and take a lot of development time. Perhaps they could make it work, but I don't see any good reason to include one.

I was thinking the "airport" would be more of a makeshift runway than a full fledged airport. Plenty of places have runways that small planes can use. I don't think anyone would be flying Boeing passenger jets in an Animal Crossing game.

i actually thought of this as a method of transport between towns. nothing too big, but just a simple little plane. it would be a new way to get to another town. we have a taxi, a bus, and a train.

but just one to fly around? no. never. if they add transportation like this then it's not animal crossing

I would absolutely hate this idea unless it was entirely optional. I always make my town after my former real-life town in Japan, which was extremely rural. To tell the truth, my RL town didn't even have a train, but I rode the train frequently to go to other parts of the prefecture (albeit after a 30-minute drive to get to the station) so it still fit in with my daily Japanese life experience that I try to replicate in AC.

However, the airport was 2 hours away from my town, and I never went there except to leave/arrive in Japan. An airport would be way too much of a "big city" thing to even remotely fit in with my AC town's vibe and would ruin the small-town-living atmosphere.

Truth. My one thought regarding this airplane idea: If Tortimer can afford an island, what makes us think that he can't afford and own his own airplane?

It could actually fit in well with his retirement theme!! You could take Tortimer's plane to different islands and play minigames there

oh god please no. the city was a one-time thing that worked in one game, we don't need more of that kinda thing. the RVs were good in pocket camp because it was a campsite, same thing with the camp in new leaf. we don't need more unnecessary vehicles.

it sounds cute but like everyone else is saying i don't think it quite fits with animal crossing i dunno if it goes with the small town feel

If you really want to fly in the game, then choose hot air balloons. Not only they would fit better into the
game (in my opinion), it would also looks cool to have a sky where many colorful hot air balloons are flying
around instead of boring (and not really fitting into the game) airplans. Also, imagine creating a design for
a hot air balloon that represents your town, like with a symbol of your town or something like this and you
could also see other players hot air balloons and their designs. That would be pretty nice if you ask me.
