Have you ever been to a Starbucks (or other coffee place) and they've terribly misspelt your name on the cup? No hate on the baristas, y'all work super hard. Personally I always get a good laugh from it. The wilder, the better.

Best/Worst misspellings of my simple name Noah:
Nella
Nora
Noa
Nogwa (best one)
Noelle
Nowa

What about you guys?

You’d think a name as common as Benjamin would be easy to spell, but I guess not.

- Benjamyn
- Benjimen
- Benjiman

I think they purposely spell the names weirdly but I have no evidence to support this it's just a theory. I usually get Dina or Deena, but I've also gotten a lot of Tina and Nina because I guess they don't hear the "D" part. Not so exciting but I have a short name so I guess it's not a lot to work with lol

On rare occasions when I actually get one that says "Deana" it's a special day.

I’m a barista right now, actually, and no one has ever misspelled my name even though there are alternate variations of it. I‘ve never misspelled another person’s name on their cup, either. Some of these examples are funny though.

Wow your friends is the best one yet haha
Hahaha ikr 😭 I also found the picture LOL I knew I saved it somewhere!

There are a few different ways to spell Holly, but most common spelling mistake I see way too often is "Holy". Way to make me feel godlike I guess haha.

not quite a barista incident but one thing that i remember is that right when everything was starting to close in march of 2020 i went into a taco bell at night and it was just me and the employees and i got those cinnamon curl things and told them for austin
and then the guy calls me up as angus

My name is Maddie, and since there's a bunch of ways to spell it, I told the barista that it ends with "ie." She still ended up spelling it wrong....she put "Madie." Can't say I've seen that spelling before.

I have a common name spelled in a unique way. More than once, they've spelled it right by trying to spell it wrong lol so joke's on them.

A barista put an exclusively guy’s name on my cup, lmao. The only similarity was that my name starts with the same letter.

one time a barista wrote “nellie.” also not a starbucks experience but one time i was at the food court at the mall and the cashier thought my name was marilyn. my name is nothing close to those two, my name is natalie and i just stood there for 10 minutes waiting for my food while they called marylin.

Haven't had that happen but I remember this girl taking sushi orders on the sushi place across the street writing "white hat" on my order for takeaway. I did wear my white faux fur hat at the time so I guess shewas just stressed LOL. Might have mentioned it before, but yeah also people tend to spell my real name in a lot of ways lol.

surprisingly I've never been to a Starbucks where they put my name on the cup (good thing too bc I don't like to give people my name lol).

if I had to I would prob give them "Bug", I'd love to know how much a barista could **** up that name lmfaooo

There's only one occasion I can remember where my name was incorrect:

My name is Aimee. Someone wrote 'Ame' on my cup.... I mean really?
I get the 'Amy' one all the time as well, which I don't mind since my name is spelt in the unusual way.

One time I was at the Chicago Union Station (train station) and the barista at the Starbucks in there had my name as “Go Dodgers” 🧢🙃 I loved it even more that they were from Chicago, personally, even though they didn’t ask for a name. While waiting for my order, we got into a conversation about the Kings (LA’s hockey team).
