So, I am trying to make sense of why people are using TBT currency instead of IGB. A far as I can tell the only real upsides to TBT is you an get signatures and tiny little pictures under your side information. Is there something I am missing that would make people want TBT over IGB?

Sometimes people might want to save up TBT to buy collectibles or art of their OC/Mayor

Or they want to save up for a username change or avatar animation/width extension c:

Not to mention, TBT can buy things other than collectibles and add-ons. You can also buy villagers and in-game items :)

I like to save mine for collectible trading or when they release new collectibles. So Mostly I only deal in selling my things for TBT. Plus I already have enough of items and IGB that I don't need those I want TBT and I want a lot so I can get all the collectibles I want. Or if I ever need to get a villager that is only for TBT then I will have it and not have to worry.

I believe most people use tbt over IGB because it's more convenient. Since IGB can be hacked/duplicated, a lot of the prices rose up dramatically. It's easier to trade tbt for items than having to drop so many bells just for a few items. :)

BTB is harder to get, that's why

I use them to buy villagers, but when it comes to selling, I want IGB. I don't get why, either... I guess I appreciate the value of IGB because I don't cheat! I don't really care for collectibles, a signature or whatnot... I like this forum but that's what it is, just a forum I might stop using some day.

I think it's easier to buy villagers for tbt since you don't have to transfer all the bells (it takes a long time ):)

Many reasons!

- Easier to transfer: the prices on this forum are kinda inflated compared to other places I used to use, so instead of dropping billions of bells and spending hours doing so, you can just type in "500" and be done and over with it.
- Collectibles: if you're done playing AC:NL or are bored of it/frustrated, you can sell your stuff for TBT and use it to buy collectibles, which is fun to collect if you're into collecting stuff. Or maybe you might want a username change or other features that cost TBT from the shop.
- 100% legit: like everyone else says, it's legit bells. The in-game bells you get for selling this or that might have come from a hacked/duplicated source. Someone might have duplicated tons of bells, gave them to someone, sold them to another, and so on, so who really knows how many legit bells are actually in circulation?
- TBT Only Shops: a lot of shops and places on here are TBT only, so it might be necessary or required to spend your TBT on that stuff.
