What's with the colored Solosis/Reuniclus signatures?

I've been looking at people's signatures, and noticed how many have either a colored solosis or a colored reuniclus in their signature. What are these from? Why are these pokemon in particular getting colored? Is it some sorta trend or inside joke? Very confuzzled!

They're image links to people's VirtualDex Project profile, having the image around gets views for points for money on VDex, which is a pokemon collecting website game. Hope this made things more clear ^^
