When do Villagers start giving requests on a regular basis?

The only request I got was finding a lost item and returning it. I wouldn’t really consider that a request but whatever. After that I got Nook Miles Stamp which implied that completing more requests would give even more Nook Miles. But I haven’t got any more yet.

Someone on here mentioned that one of their villagers asked them to catch them a bug.

I love this game but villagers not giving requests is kinda killing it for me. Like I need something else to do besides get 2 recipes a day and collect materials.

I just got my first request from a villager today. You have to talk to them every day and as soon as you have the ability to give them gifts, do so. The better your relationship with them, the more interesting their conversation gets and they'll start giving you things and making requests.

One of my villagers once asked me to catch him a black bass. So far no one else has asked me for requests. Honestly I never liked doing request for villagers specially for bugs and fish. But since he was a villager I didn't want I didn't even try and found the fish for him. Two days later he was gone.
