Where did the individually wrapped copies of RV cards come from?

I have a small question regarding the Welcome Amiibo RV cards; I regularly check online for card listings, and sometimes I'll see WA cards that are individually wrapped. Something like this:

At first I thought they may have come bundled with physical copies of Animal Crossing : New Leaf Welcome Amiibo, but when I bought a factory sealed copy it had no cards in it! I asked a few friends who are very into amiibo and was told that HHD came with cards, however every listing I see for HHD with a sealed card seems to only include cards from Series 1-4.
Being individually wrapped like this makes me think they were either bundled with something, or were possibly part of some promo/giveaway Just a little something I was a bit curious about!

I got an individually wrapped RV card like that with one of my copies of New Leaf: Welcome Amiibo. It was Paolo. I didn't get a card with my other copy of New Leaf even though it was also the Welcome Amiibo version. I'm not sure why some copies of the game came with cards and some didn't. Unfortunately, that's all I know.

Hi, I have three copies if NL and for one of my games I still have the card sealed in the plastic because I got Raddle twice so decided to not open the second one. I also entered a giveaway with Nintendo AU/NZ where you posted a screenshot of ACNH and they sent you three WA cards for free. All three were in the plastic packets. It may just be in the boxes of ACNL for PAL regions maybe, I'm not sure why some copies do and some don't have cards inside. Hopefully this helped answer your question.

That's very interesting! I don't have NL WA and was planning on getting it one day anyways due to having a good number of the cards to actually use and was hoping I could get a WA card while I was at it, but I guess not <XDDD

OLD copies of New Leaf welcome amiibo came with an amiibo card! It says it on the back. They quickly stopped that after the limited release so very few come with cards! They are just like HHD where they are sealed. Another way the sealed cards came from was an Australian Nintendo giveaway! Nintendo did an official Christmas giveaway last year where you had a chance to win 3 random RV cards. They probably had some old stock left as they had the exact same New Leaf logo and 2016 trademark.

Haha I know too much lol! If you ever want to know anything else dont hesitate to ask me! I wish I lived in Australia to get them! It was pretty surprising hearing the news about the old cards just for the giveaway! Wish USA got those though....

I have all the WA cards! I am still trying to finish series 1 - 4 though! I have very few left to get!!!
