"Where'd I put my photo album?"

The past two residents I've had move out (Jacques and Olaf) have both said, when their houses were in boxes, that they couldn't find their photo album of themselves. Is this an indication that you weren't close enough friends with them and are unable to get their picture? Or is it just something the smug villagers say when moving out?

I don't think Lionel told me that, because I never got his picture and he's smug.
But it'd be clever if that's how they indicated it. XD
