I personally prefer Universal. I?ve been to both, but Disney lack the rides needed to fulfill my needs. Universal had so many fun rides, and alot of rides.
If we were having this convo in real life, I could go on about this topic for hours. Having lived in Orlando FL for the past 4 years and worked for both companies, I've formed some opinions haha.
Disney gives me a more nostalgic feeling. I would go here with family and friends as a kid so I definitely love the Disney parks. The visuals, parades, and shows at Disney are far better than Universal's. However, they lack in the thrilling and fun department imo.
When I go to theme parks, I go for the coasters mainly. I prefer Universal when it comes to the rides. I could spend the day at Universal and not get bored, while at Disney my boyfriend and I would usually leave after riding the 2 or 3 decent rides they had.
I also lovelovelove Halloween Horror Nights, that gives Universal a few brownie points as well haha. x)
Overall, I believe Disney is a better park for families, and Universal is better suited for teenaged/adult groups.
i prefer disney as a whole, but universal has more rides that i enjoy. i have been to both parks a lot in my life, and i don't really go for the rides any more, and care more for the experience; where we stay, where we eat, what we do. and i think in all departments except for thrill rides, disney steals it for me. however i enjoy both!
I love Disney more, the rides aren't as good but there's much more to explore and it just has this atmosphere that can't be matched. I love Universal too but I think I'll give it to Disney!
I used to love Disney World when I was young; it was just this large, incomprehensible and magical place where I could hug Mushu, which was really all I could ever ask for, haha. But now that I’m older (and a grouchy cynic: Isn’t it unbearably hot and uncomfortable inside those plushy character costumes? I feel sorry for the guys in there... :C), I vastly prefer Universal. Especially the Wizarding World addition is amazing!
