Which villager traumatized you in the original AC game?

With their sass! Going back, they were so RUDE! I still have memories of Tank and I terrorizing each other. Which villager still gives you nightmares?

Tabby.

She was one that I really got along with, and back in 2005 I knew barely anything.

I didn't know in Wild World that if you kept talking to a villager that they would get angry.

Angry was an understatement.

I was feeling a little depressed one morning and loaded up the game to lift my spirits.

I went over to chat with Tabby.
I kept talking to her, then she went on a very hurtful tirade of abuse.

She said I was nothing but gum that stuck to her shoes when she stepped on it. Said I was basically the scum of the earth.

I honestly didn't know what to think.

I got rid of her the next time I found her in boxes, and have detested the sight of her ever since.

I (un)fortunately never got the experience since I started with NL.

When I first heard that they were more rude I was all for it, but holy...there?s some dialogue I actually can?t believe was in the game. I?ve literally seen screencaps that I felt the need to fact check because they seemed so outrageous xD

I can’t remember the exact villagers I had as I first played AC about 15 years ago but I remember being terrified of cranky and snooty villagers as a kid lmao

I can honestly say that I never felt traumatized by any of the villagers. I thought their dialog was funny and it just made me want to work harder to become their friend.

baabara would always come for me in wild world but I LOVED it. i really miss the villagers being so brutal it's so funny

Would never let me play my game, and being young, got quite upset and threw my ds because he shouted at me constantly. Even if my ds shut off by itself haha

One of the gorillas in WW, I think Caesar, was always horrible and mean when I talked to him. Octavian moved in shortly after I met Caesar and he was just as mean to me. I was genuinely afraid of them.

Aside from that, in NL, Wart Jr. wouldn't leave no matter what I did, I was stuck with that stupid frog for months. I have a really bad fear of frogs IRL so he definitely had outstayed his welcome by the time he left a few months later.

Same!!! I played Wild World and they were sort of mean, but good golly the dialogue in the original game is BRUTAL. xD

Olivia was the main one I remember from the original game who was really rude to me. There was only one instance of it but it was so long ago, I was really young, so I don't remember specifics, but I remember thinking how rude she was and I never liked her since then. I wouldn't exactly say I was traumatized by it, I just never liked her again and probably won't for a long time.

When I was a kid, I couldn't stand Cyrano in Gamecube. He was always rude no matter what and his mean looking face with those giant groucho marx brows made everything so much worse.

I found Mr. Resetti to be pretty annoying in Wild World, but I can't think of a single character that really traumatized me. The closest nightmare fuel I can think of in Animal Crossing is Coco sneaking up on you at night, but even then I've seen scarier in other games.

Lucy the pig. I don't remember her being particularly mean to me, but I remember disliking her a lot in Wild World!

My brother and I shared a town, so Queenie would antagonize him, and Whitney would do so to me. I swear those two were in cahoots.

i mostly remember olivia being super rude to me in the original! i was only ~5 or 6 when i played it though so i didn't understand most of it lol

Resetti would yell at me when I was 4 and get my to write out 'I'm sorry' or something and I couldn't spell so I'd just sit there for hours crying because I couldn't go play with the villagers in town or dig up fossils because resetti was lecturing me for two hours. I remember turning from the screen when running out of the house and asking my sister 'is he there?' because I was so scared. Hate that guy.

Chops. He did always send me Girl Clothing and mentioned how good it would look on me. So just a big creep in general. Also he would not leave, even if I told him that it was okay for me, when he wanted to move out, saying that I didn’t even know him. Made me dislike him even more. And that’s from someone who had Ken the Chicken, which never send me anything weird.
