for me, there are no bugs/fish/sea creatures that i haven't caught in september.... & i'm stuck with the last bits of areas of my island with what to put in them...

& all i'm doing is collecting up items for my 2nd island when i get it...granted, i think i have all items i want... til i find more related to okami that i want to put on it... i like doing that, though :>

but i still want to get the cranky reactions & i think the last of the... sisterly or was it the snooty... i forget ... & i still want to experiance the thanksgiving day event, the halloween event, the toy day/christmas event & the festivale event, & i still want to invite blaire, fuschia via amiibo & look for sherb via hunting... so there's so much waiting for me...

I was taking breaks even when I had stuff to do lol, for me they don’t happen because of a lack of activities/projects. More-so because I feel like I’ve gotten to a place where I can slow down and not have to open the game everyday.

I think animal crossing is one of those series’ you’ll always be able to pick up and play for a lengthy time, even if you finished everything the game has to offer. It’s a game you can always go back to.

I think everyone takes a break due to lack of things to do. I definitely doing play this game as much as I used to. I’m taking a break just because I feel like it. It’s nice that you can take breaks on this game without having to worry about villagers moving out.

unlike wild world :> where they do move out :<
I know you could convince them to stay if they were in boxes, but I don’t remember if that was Wild World or in New Leaf. I’m glad they gave you an actual decision in this game, though. It definitely helps, so you don’t have to worry about your favorite villagers leaving.

I plan on taking a long break from NH when Legends Arceus comes out next year. There's not much to do in January anyway so I may focus on playing that game and others. I think more people play NH when there's a major event going on like Halloween or Toy Day.

me too, about legends of arceus :>
i'll have new pokemon snap & the sinnoh remakes too by then for christmas, this year, as well :>

i'm looking forward to the upcoming events as well ^^

I’ve played pretty consistently since launch, but there have been times where I will only log in for ten minutes just to check in for the day, as opposed to playing for about an hour when I have stuff to do.

For me, ACNH is a meditative game, so I don’t mind spending 20-30min just doing whatever— the game relaxes me, and I enjoy the “nothingness” of fishing, checking on villagers, or just sitting watching the clouds go by.

That said, I could use some new real content soon. Summer is my least favorite time in the game, and the change to fall is the only thing that has recharged me. I am cautiously optimistic that we will hear news about the big update soon, even if it is still months out until drop.

I’ve taken a couple of lengthy breaks from NH since launch though I wouldn’t say I’d completely run out of things to do, it’s usually just that I need a break from the things I am doing on it. I am more inclined to take breaks when there are no big events in the game as there isn’t a lot to do, other then complete my own aims on the game, during the downtime.

I’m aiming to complete all the Nook Mile Achievements and still have a couple left to finish and I haven’t fully decorated my island so I still have those things left to do but I sometimes take a break when I’m tired of grinding the achievements or if I don’t have any inspiration for decorating.

As others have said it’s nice that you can now take a break from AC and not worry about villagers leaving and after a long break I always enjoy returning to the game and feel more motivated to carry on with completing what I want to do on my island.

I took a break around February 2021 then I came back on May 2021 after I got my 2nd switch that gave the motivation to play again since at the time I had to delete my old island (Traverse), while transferring all my items to the 2nd island. It was an experience that I needed the most. Whenever I feel like stuff is getting stale I just take another break and play different games until I can get that spark back inside of me to keep playing again.

Once you done everything in New Horizons it starts to feel repetitive because you done it so many times that it just doesn't feel fun anymore and you find yourself just finding everything a chore. That is why taking a break is much needed to get a refresh mindset. Like I said playing different games that are actually "fun" is what motivated me to come back to the game and if I feel bored I just repeat the same process.

admittedly i do this pretty often. i'll drop the game for months at a time and fantasize about playing without actually playing. come back to it when i get an idea for a new room or a structure on my island and beg whichever villager not to move out. rinse wash repeat.

Honestly I’ve complained about if on here before but the fact that it’s been almost a year with 0 content (when they promised 2 years of content) just makes me sad. I finished the museum and without new events I’m just not that interested in playing anymore.

Unlike New Leaf there isn’t any rare furniture to hunt down in this game, so I’m not motivated to try and complete the catalogue either. Anyone remember the 7/11 set? Or the sloppy set?

i didn't play new leaf yet... not that i want to at this point... so i don't know about those sets ...

i found that i was playing every single holiday the first year but now that there's only minor updates i've really let the game fall out of my rotation. it's just not fun :( there's no real purpose for collecting all bugs/fish/etc because the golden tools end up breaking anyway. i'd rather just keep buying/crafting regular tools.

lately i've been trying to play it more but it's just so... dead. it makes me really sad because i am a huge animal crossing fan. i was so incredibly excited for this to be released and sadly it's been a huge disappointment...

my breaks might end up turning into a full on hiatus from the game.

for me, though... i'm looking forward to the halloween, thanksgiving, toy day & festivale events cause i haven't gotten to see them yet :D

i will definitely be playing during halloween as well as christmas. i hope we get a robust update for these last few holidays because what we've gotten feels like a far cry from what was promised...
