I've always wondered this, i know you can use them to buy name changes, avatar size changes, little collectables but i see they're mostly used by the art people in the museum section as a currency for making sigs and stuff. But then why do they want them? Why doesn't everyone just use in game bells? I'm genuinly curious to know what the hype is about tbt bellss ^^

I agree, I would love to know as well. I understand you can use them to make private grouos and clubs, amd I believe you have to pay a certain fee to join clubs as well. Maybe that's why?

People usually use the bells to by "games" or art. That's the trading currency. In game money is too easy to get, therefore, it's very inflated at the moment.

A reason could be because some people no longer have a use of IGB since they already have enough money or maxed out their ABD. So what next? TBT. TBT can be used to purchase many things like villagers, commissions, collectibles, services (like pokemon breeding) and download codes which can be seen int he TBT market.
That and because TBT bells is easier to trade with instead of spending minutes dropping bell bags and running to the post office ABD every time. Back then a lot of people paid in IGB but now a lot are preferring payments made in tbt because like I said, they might already have all the bells they want so igb barely has much value to them.

I don't know about everyone else's reasons but I do it because it's faster to trade and because it has lasting value into the next game in the AC series.

I mainly use my TBT bells for art. Other than that, I don't really use it for anything else. The artists here are SOOO amazing.<3

Sounds good! I didn't know you can make groups with it, sounds like fun = )

A bit of addition on how this forum currency makes wonderful gifts:

Say, you want to express your gratitude towards someone who had helped you,
instead of 'hey let me drop 30 mil IG bells in your town to express my thanks!',
you can just swiftly send over some nice TBT Bells, and they can use those bells to their liking.

Also, let's say you'd like to surprise your friends with artwork/forum collectibles/even villagers,
TBT Bells comes in really handy too. You can contact the artists/sellers, explained to them what you'd like for your friends,
then it's done. Fast, clean and easy. And who wouldn't love surprise gifts?

Or, as some personal goal/achievements, we have saving badges in-game.
By this time most players are done with their in-game savings,
so we can set TBT Bells savings goals for ourselves,
and you can be the 'Most Bells' chart toppers if you don't mind letting others know how much bells you have
(at least for the amount you choose to display publicly.)

wOw... I feel this is actually a legit question, and I've actually been wondering this for a bit now.

Everyone pretty much answered, but it's mostly because IGB is extremely easy to get, and is so inflated.
Plus with tbt, you can buy full download codes of 3ds and Wii U games on these forums. (of course.. it's a bit of work)
Ah... so tbt is a nice and fair form of currency that probably won't inflate like IGB does.

you can buy some really cool stuff with TBT bells examples are video game codes and rare pokemon! :D

Just more simple to use :p don't have to come to someone's town, drop 50trillion bells and then they do what you wanted eg, art

Just send it to them and your ready!
