Before I even started this save, I had decided that I was going to follow a strategy I had found online to make sure my town turned out exactly the way I wanted it to. The strategy was that you put down cheap costume sign PwPs, which cost 40,000 Bells each, in spots where you want future PwPs to go, so that no one can move into those areas. Then when you get the requests for the PwPs, you delete the signs and carry on your merry way. Easy, right?
Well, yeah, I thought so to, but yesterday when I unlocked the ability to place PwPs, I was so worried about someone moving into the spot where I wanted my campsite to go that I decided to place that first. I made sure to pay it off in the same day that I would have only lost one day and the other spots I had picked out for PwPs would still be safe, more or less. Boy, was I wrong.
I logged on today and the first thing I noticed was a plot for a new house. Canberra's house. Mere feet away from the place I had been planning to put the cafe. Now, while it is true that her house wasn't in the spot I'd been planning to use, it was still close enough, so that I would probably get a "Mayor, I'm afraid this is too close to a villagers' home" from Isabelle when I did try to place it.
So not only am I getting my least favorite uchi -- sorry, Canberra, I prefer Cherry -- but I also have to rethink the layout for my town.
And update my siggy.
Also, can I just say it seems absolutely absurd that the villagers can build wherever the heck they want without so much as a zoning permit, but I the mayor need to ask permission from my secretary!!!! What kind of logic is that?!
