why do some new members have 'senior member' in their title?

alot of accounts i've seen that were made in 2020 have 'senior member' as their title! do you get this title after a specific amount of posts or does it depend on the time?
(for example, i've only ever had the junior title and my account is 2 years old)

It's related to post count - I don't know exactly at what point it changes, but once you reach a certain number of posts, the default title changes.

I think it's somewhere around 100 posts. Lots of people use custom titles anyway, so most people don't even use the title "Senior Member". I use it because I haven't come up with any good use for my user title, oops

ah, okay, makes sense 100 feels like almost too little to me to be considered a senior member but thats probably because many people on here have averaging 1k+ posts lol. 100 doesn't seem like that much to me in comparison xD thanks for the explanation!

Most forums with default titles have them based on post count, though there are a few sites that have them tied to either how long you've been a member or logged onto the site itself. Of course, the latter is kinda rare to come across nowadays.
