Why is my town dirt?

My town is mostly dirt now.How did this happen and how do i plant new grass?

its dirt cuz you run on it so much. it will grow back over time if you don't run and stick to a certain path

It is not only due to running. If you time travel you lose more grass faster. You have to make sure you sign on everyday for the next couple months if you want any of it back.

The grass can be killed by walking, too, but it diminishes faster if you run.

After it grows back, try making paths so when the grass dies it forms a neat looking dirt path.

Plant some flowers in the areas where you want grass to grow. It will help the grass grow a little quicker. Gold roses are best since you don't have to water them and you won't have to walk in them.

A New DLC such as Grass Seeds would be probably worth, I don't know, about 10.000.000 Bells, but you'd be able to buy them in the catalog for 100 Bells each afterwards, if Nintendo ever released such a DLC...

they should make a patch that makes your grass invincible. like, you get the patch in the mail, if you click yes, your game restarts and grass is completely replenished and can never be trampled again. if you hit no, it'll stay the same and you click yes whenever you feel like it if you keep the letter. that would be nice.
