I just don't get why we can catch 80 different types of bugs and fish each but we're only at 40 deep sea creatures. There's a lot of different types of animals out there that could be incorporated. Seems weird the developers would do so few.

Yea it seems weird to me as well . I would love it if they could add more sea creatures. It’s also weird that they never added sea creature models.

I don't mind that there were only 40, but I'd always be happy to see more! Clams and sea snails have found themselves being found both on the beach and by diving, so I'd love to see coral be found by diving too. I think there's also room for plenty more sea sponges and sea stars (also jellyfish if you're willing to take the risk!). 😊🐚

Its 10 more than in ACNL!! Its probably because ACNL introduced Sea Creatures and they havent be around for long so thats probably why there are so few, past games never had them! (some became sea creatures instead of fish though!)

Unfortunately it's not up to the developers what stays in the game. The art director, game director and producers are the ones that get the final say-so even without your knowledge of what gets cut. It's a really bumming process.

I was hoping there would be models for them. I would of loved to have a chambered nautilus model.

I also don't really mind that there's only 40 but I also definitely would have liked to see more. I would have loved to see more weird or scary deep sea fish like big fin squid or dragon fish.

I'm not disappointed in the amount of diving creatures--if anything, I think the amount of creatures to collect in the game overall is more than a tad overt--but I do wish that some variations of similar creatures were condensed into one. For instance, we don't need several different sizes of crabs or different variations of seaweed and kelp. In essence, I would vastly prefer a small but diverse range of collectible creatures than a large one padded out with similar variations.

I actually wouldn't mind some more different creatures I actually like deep diving to try and find them all so I know they are not updating the game anymore but I would of loved to see more creatures.

I'm gonna assume that it was just an after-thought especially since it was included in an update rather than being in the game from day one...but yeah I was also super dissapointed in the collection of sea creatures. I'm hoping that it expands in the next game

It's weird, a lot of people seem to hate diving in this game but I think it's my favorite out of the critter hunting activities. I wouldn't mind more sea creatures - But I would really prefer if we could at least get them turned in to those little replicas from Flick/CJ :( Makes no sense!!

At least we can put Spider Crabs everywhere, without any enclosure.

The lack of models bugs me a lot, I was even saving a ton of sea creatures for it in storage.

If I had to wager a guess there are fewer creatures because going for a swim is more of a deviation from being on your island. You’d run around and do stuff and naturally bump into fish and bugs but you can’t say the same for sea creatures, you need to look for them. I still think it’s lame too though and diving was part of my daily routine for a long time (I prefer it to regular fishing and on some days even bug catching, it helps that your wet suit doesn’t break :z).

For me, I find it harder to hunt for specific diving creatures. I just get the same ones, even though I follow the shadow and time guides. So it unmotivates me to even bother.

I feel like just the diving aspect seems less necessary than it felt like in New Leaf. And due to that, there was less creatures to focus on. They were more focused on the new things, so some things were left out to be explored on.

I do like the diving, haven't done it in a while and whenever I do, I do it at night for some reason. I still haven't found the last creature, no matter what I do.

I think since they were the last to be implemented, maybe they just added a few. The others were in previous games so it was easier to bring them back and add more I suppose. I wish we had more diving creatures though. I think diving is more relaxing than fishing or catching bugs.
