I think a Wii Hard Drive is coming.

Why? Well first off Nintendo is the company of secrets. Almost everyone has no clue at all what's going on except for the Treehouse and they only leave their building every once in a blue moon. So we never find out about things. Than when it gets to PR people, they need to think of something to say, right? There have been countless different things saying that a Hard Drive isn't coming but none of it makes sense!

Perin Kaplan said the Wii was a refrigerator. Now personally that's just stupid and it's most likely something she came up with to keep everything calm. Another Nintendo Rep had said that games run horribly off SD cards and non-direct memory however all of the 3rd party developers are denying that.

Also the 512MB is all ready nothing to begin with. With the launch of Wii Ware coming there's going to need to be a place for all of those games. Red Octane has really been quiet about download-able songs for GHIII on the Wii. Perhaps they are waiting for a hard drive? Brawl has much extra content such as recording videos, stage creator, pictures, and much more. Was it delayed because of a possible hard drive coming?

Also there were two advertisements that said there was a Hard Drive with the Wii. That may just be a misprint but it could mean more.

Anyway what do you guys think? I think we'll be seeing something at GDC but we'll just have to wait and see.

I hope. The memory the Wii came with has lasted me this long, but there's not much left. Brawl will definetly finish it,

I've had to delete two or three games already because of lack of space. It's getting out of control, really... some people have downloaded 100+ games, and the Wii flash drive is obviously not enough. Heck, there's a miniscule amount of channel slots... there need to be more of those, too. To be honest, I would love it if the entire look of the Wii start-up menu would change. Completely changed.

One website made a mock-up of their dream layout, and it was, simply put, awesome. I wish Nintendo thought about the hard-drive issue more... this isn't a "refrigerator", Perrin.

I haven't filled mine completely yet, but I'm sure the day will come fairly soon, especially when Brawl comes out. I also agree with you Bul that an entire overhaul of the Wii startup menu would be great.

I have had to delete Paper Mario, Sin and Punishment, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time along with a few other games. The Wii definitely needs a bigger hard drive.

I'd even like to see a skinnable Wii menu, allowing you to download skins from a Wiiware channel.

I agree with the menu being changed, but that's ridiculous that you're DLing that many games. I have one VC game, and my first page of channels isn't even full. Maybe that's a hint that you've been spending way too much money on VC games. Maybe for people like you who DL way too many games, they can make a VC Channel (well for everyone) and it shows all the games you have and that's where you select what you want to play. 1 channel for all your VC stuff.

That'd be somewhat cool. I'd prefer, as Bul said, a complete revamp. There's no connectivity between the channels and the menu unlike the PS3 and 360.

btw, Could you find that so called "dream menu"?

But it's not just going to be VC games that fill peoples Wii's. Just imagine VC games, Wiiware, and a bunch of Smash Bros Brawl videos, etc. gathering up on your Wii. A hard drive is definitely necessary.

That's exactly what I thought would happen at first, when I saw the wii menu. Too bad they didn't do that.

...I don't have 100 games. I said some people do.

I've downloaded around 30 Virtual Console games. I noticed that my Wii was running significantly slower when I started running out of room, so now I only keep six or seven games on at a time.

Nintendo needs to release a hard-drive. A 4GB Hard-Drive for $29.99 and an 8GB Hard-Drive for $49.99 would make a lot of sense in my opinion, but I have to wonder why Nintendo hasn't already done it. Or at least allow reading VC games off of an SD card, which would solve a lot of problems with one simple firmware update.

It's almost like Nintendo doesn't care.

You could get a 40GB for about $50.

This is Nintendo we're talking about. They're charging $20 for that stupid Wii Zapper that is just a piece of plastic.

Even though I have never bought a Virtual Console game before in the life time of my Nintendo Wii I think a Wii Hard Drive would definitely be in order. I mean there are so many games, vc games and eventually WiiWare that are coming out so it makes sense that you would run out of space very quickly. Me, I haven't ran out of space yet in fact I have a whole bunch of space that I haven't used yet even though I have save data for quite a few games. But recently last week I bought a 2000 Wii Points card and once I buy those Virtual Console games or WiiWare the space may go down a bit faster. However, right now I'm not able to see that we really need a hard drive though the average Wii User probably buys Virtual Console games all the time maybe not a lot but at least every month or so. So, I think a Wii Hard Drive would be a nice accessorie to have, but lets see what Nintendo decides to do although Odd you may be on to something...

|sf>There are advantages to VC games. You don't have to worry about losing the instructions booklet, running from store to store in order to find it in stock, taking up space next to the machine, or problems connected with older copies. There are also several reviewers such as Bulerias who give their opinions on the games, thereby giving you a general idea of what you're buying.
