will u be able to trade sanrio villagers?

so i just found out from my sister that back in NL, u couldn't invite a sanrio character from someone else's town and i was wondering would this be possible in NH?

i assumed it would be possible since others can invite what used to be RV villagers and apparently u couldn't invite them in NL either

i probably wouldn't get rid of the sanrio villagers when i get them but who knows lol

I would assume that it won't be possible, just like it wasn't possible in New Leaf, so as to encourage the sale of more amiibo cards.

I was wondering the same thing. It would be pretty crappy if you can't, but it would also make sense for the reason Halloween mentioned.

Plus it would open them up to people selling them for actually money, like people were doing with Raymond early on.

It'll likely work the same way as it did in NL, where you could share furniture and items but not villagers.

If you check some of the recent Sanrio threads, or Nintendo's YouTube channel, they are officially returning as villagers with their furniture sets

Yeah I was hoping for the Zelda villagers, be these are a good sign that Nintendo has not forgotten about the amiibo characters and I’m sure we’ll see them again at some point.

Same, just hoping this means we'll see the other crossover villager and items some time this year too.

Before this announcement I would have never expected them to bother including these in ACNH, but after this announcement, I'd be shocked if we don't get all the other Amiibo characters. I always tend to think of this game's development in terms of "well, we're already doing this, we may as well do that too," so if they're going to bother designing a framework for these Amiibo cards to work (giving items AND villager, Amiibo villager non-tradeable, etc.) then there's not a lot stopping them from using that framework for all the other Amiibos.
