Windmill/Lighthouse

I was wondering, whats the difference between the Lighthouse and the windmill, is there something that you can only get on one than the other or do they just look good?

I think everything about each one doing something special is a rumor. I heard with a lighthouse you catch more rare fish, and with a windmill i've heard 2 things, you catch better bugs, and I've also heard it helps with growing Hybrid flowers. However, I have a lighthouse, and don't catch anymore or less rare fish with it.

Also apparently the windmill brings you more floating presents and somehow helps towards your town rating.

It is all untrue rumors. The windmill doesnt do 10 things, while the lighthouse only does 1. So far the only thing the lighthouse has done for me, is light up the night by the beach a little bit, and took a space on my beach I wish it wouldnt of taken

Yeah a windmill would be nice. But, no difference whatsoever.

i love the lighthouse
but i dont think anything is different about them except the way they look

After I got my lighthouse I started catching like 7 tuna a day. Before getting the lighthouse I was lucky if I even saw one tuna a day. I believe it makes a difference.

I caught 2-3 tunas a day before the lighthouse, and if anything, my tuna catching has decreased slightly since I got the lighthouse. Still think it is all coincidence

Why don't you people search for these things? It's been said over and over again.

Windmills have a higher chance of attracting insects/perfecting your town (via hybrids and such).

Lighthouses attract better fish.

And I'm just speaking from my own experience. Not from what some website is telling me about each one. I like the lighthouse, although it is in the way of my fishing on that pier. I wouldnt mind having it torn down to test out the windmill though, i'd love to go back and forth lol

I hit 18.5 million earlier in the week on turnips, and just planted 35 money trees yesterday. lol not worried about the cash. Plus if each one really does help with something different, it wouldnt be that insignificant. I'm an avid bug catcher and fisher
