What does it mean when someone's username turns brown? Are they banned?

A brown username can mean a number of different things, explained in our Username Color Key thread, created by Oblivia.

Brown name = this can mean many different things. A user awaiting email confirmation, a banned member, a disabled account, or a forum NPC (non-playable character) like Zipper T. Bunny, Resetti, Gyroid, etc.

It can mean a few different things, but most of the time a brown name indicates a banned user. This thread has more information on the various username colors and what they could mean.
