Hey guys, thanks for checking it out

I got my tablet last saturday and I can see improvements already but I know I still have a long way to go, if you have any pointers/tips that would be great!

Mainly on colouring really or if you've seen anything on the internet- I learnt the eyes from deviant art but the hair I just cant figure out with the different shades etc it never looks right when I actually try it out

I don't usually critique art but I think the example chibi is great! I seen some of your art before and it's definitely an improvement! The colour looks great to me! Maybe a little shading though but I can't offer many pointers, Sorry!

Id definitely suggest sketching out a very messy guideline layer before you do your lineart and coloring. It makes the overall picture look a lot more neat and proportioned.

Hi! If you wanna make your chibi seem dainty and innocent, tips are:

Make it short (1 and a 1/2 chibi-heads tall is best)
Make eyes quite bright/stand out and big OR make small black dots spaces apart widely
Give the hair 'shines'
Shade the haids as you move down. (at top of head hair is light, end of hair is dark)
Sketch a rough outline of what you REALLY want your chibi to look like, so your not just freestyling
Give it a big head (larger than normal)

Don't worry! You'll become a pro in no time :3 These tips are from this book. I have a copy of it myself. It really helps, for digital and traditional art. Hope I helped!

I did a lineart of your chibi drawing and re-colored it and added shading. If you want to know which brushes I used, let me know!

I'm not an expert at it, but I hope you sorta understand at least.

For sketching, I usually do in pencil with a setting or fade in/out at 1 px. For lining I do a combination of fade in/out pen and a pen. For pallete mixing I use watercolor with a setting of ease of mixing colors at 100 and load color at 9 (I usually lower the opacity on the second color to mix even more). For base colors I use watercolor, for shadows and lights I use an airbrush (I usually do 3 layers for this, one for shadows in a multiply layer, one also for shadows but in a purplish color, and one for lights in a screen layer). For the white next to the eye i used marker, and for the whites on the eye i used the shape tool.

I also use airbrush for eyes (going darker and darker using multiply layer, and then a light color at the bottom using screen).hope this helps!

EDIT: Oh I forgot that in the whites next to the eye, I go on another layer, and airbrush a little grey at the top to make the eyes pop!
