Would you like seasonal Villagers?

I remember hearing someone that would be cool to have Villagers that can only be gotten in certain months. For example get a Christmas themed Villager just in December or a Halloween themed one at October.

They can appear just at Islands you go with Nook Miles Tickets or at Campsite.

What you think about this.

Hmm this thread makes me think it would be cute to have Holiday themed villagers but no I would not like seasonal villagers because I'm constantly rotating my villagers and I want to have the entire roster available to me whenever I desire that's why I love my amiibos and seasonal villagers would defeat my purpose of being able to get whatever villagers I want whenever I want.
what if I needed them for an aesthetic but then they are locked behind a date I wouldn't like that.

No. Not only is there the issues that BrokenSanity brought up, but there's the fact that it's so random when/if you get villagers from the campsite or with NMTs. I got Raymond on my own, no amiibos or through villager trading, but it took well over a year of real world time before I finally found him on a NMT island.

It's a cute idea to have seasonal themed villagers, but I don't like the idea of them being only available during certain times of the year.

I'd love to see more season or holiday-themed villagers, but I think I'd prefer if they were available at the same chances as every other villager year-round. It might be a little odd to find a Halloween kitty in June, but I think it'd make the most sense that way. I time travel, but I feel like that'd give players like me an unfair advantage—it'd be a pain for people who don't time travel having to wait until the right month to try and find their dream villager, and then possibly never see them at all, thus forcing them to wait until next year. And if you just happened to be trying to find a regular villager around the winter holiday season, it might be frustrating with increased rates for seasonal winter villagers.
I'm also not sure how they'd work with Amiibo cards—if you could get them all year-round only via Amiibo, I'd worry about potential scalping issues. Popular villager cards can already sell for some pretty ridiculous prices, so I'd be scared to see what people would do with cards of popular villagers that were only available for short windows in-game. 😅

But that aside, I think it's a really cute concept! ^^ There's some villagers that I think fit certain holidays and seasons really well, but I'd love to see more, especially for some more obscure holidays too. I think it'd add a lot for players who like to theme their islands around certain times of year, and even more generally it might be nice to have a villager always around to commemorate your favorite holiday.

Yes I think this would be fun! Maybe there could be specific plots for seasonal villagers, so you don’t have to pick between them and regular villagers.

Tropical villagers in the summer, then they move out once summer ends and a fall themed villager fills their plot, etc.

Honestly it would be so cute, especially if they come back year after year 🥹

I'd be okay with the feature, but it's not one I'd likely take advantage of. Not a big holiday person.

the idea is neat, but i don’t think i’d go for it. i’d prefer holiday/season-themed villagers we can have year-round instead. not super fond of time-locked/based things haha.

It’s a nice thought but I don’t believe it would work, with the issues mentioned above.

I think it's a cute idea, but time locked things always do nothing but stress me out. Suppose I want a certain villager but can only get them and have them on my island during December? If I'm super busy that month, I'll have to wait a whole year for a chance of having that villager, which will do nothing but make me frustrated.

I really love the idea of having more themed villagers that you can access year-round though!

I would love that, as long as they were in a separate house (I didn't have to evict one of my villagers), possibly a glamping type tent, a camper van or they could live in our island reps house and roam the island when they wanted. That would be fun to have a temporary holiday themed housemate!

What if there was a vacation home you could set up on your island, and seasonal/holiday-themed villagers would visit it for a few months at a time? Perhaps there would be a few for each season, and you could either let them be random or maybe approve the application of the one you'd most like to hang out on your island for a few months. You could also close the vacation house if you didn't want visitors that season, or just never open it in the first place if you don't ever want any of those villagers hanging around. I feel like that might reduce the stress about them being time-locked if you know from the start they'll only be there temporarily, and that they'll be able to come back every year if you really want them.

I wouldn't mind it, but honestly I don't see the point in locking them behind a season unless there was a special house on your map that can only house seasonal villagers... But even still why. I feel like the special seasonal NPCs are enough.
Edit unless maybe it was a tourism thingy and you learn stuff from them instead of making more special NPCs 😯

I wonder if Nintendo will ever go the pokemon route and have two versions of the game with exclusive villagers since AC has gotten more popular and the roster is large and I'd imagine they still plan to add more characters.

I would hate if there were parts of the villager pool I couldn't always access. I do like kiwikenobi's idea of seasonal houses, though.

I also already choose villagers a bit based on seasons from my Amiibo collection- I have more of the Penguins during winter, more Bunnies during spring, and more of the tropical based ones for Summer. For Halloween, I have some of the creepier looking villagers or ones that have headgear/costumes. But it would be nice to have an easier way to access seasonal villagers in game for those who don't have big amiibo collections.

Dewy's idea is not bad. Have a villager who leaves the island once the season is over, but what if we really like this character and want to keep him forever? Wait nine months to see him again? That said, I'm totally for one or two villagers only found in certain seasons, not especially for the holidays because it has a lot of connotations, but I have ideas for a look in mind and it could be cool. kiwikenobi's idea is good too!
