Writers' Guild: Prompt Story Contest
Welcome to the first ever "Writers' Guild: Prompt Story Contest"! I know I was a little late in starting an April contest but better late than never right?!
WARNING:If you wish to participate you need to be a member of the Bell Tree's "Writers' Guild" (just join the guild and you can join this contest!). You also need to apply (so I know who is participating) and have your short story in BEFORE April 29th. First place prizes for the Nintendo of America districts need to be redeemed by April 30th.

Directions:
Please pick one of the following prompts and write a short story over it that is NO LESS THAN 1000 words and NO MORE THAN 9000 words. After you have picked from the list, the prompt you wish to write over, write it!
Here are several prompts to pick from*:
1. Start your story with the line: "Her laugh broke the silence."
2. Write from the point of view of an item in a vending/claw machine
3. Good versus evil. Does it truly exist? What are the gray areas? Do good people do bad things? Do bad people do good things?
4. You find yourself in a dream world. What do you see?
5. "I crawl up the creaking stairs and into the attic of this old wooden house. As I move about the dust begins to swirl and agitate my eyes. With my flashlight I search. For what? I am unsure but I do know is that IT is up here……" What is "it"?
6. We have finally invented a time machine and the best part is, you can go back in time and do whatever you want without altering the future…..Oh did I say time machine? The scientists forgot to mention it's also an alternate dimension machine.
7. What really happened on the night of (Enter Holiday Here)
8. Write about a spaceman/woman helping to tereform and colonize a new planet. What happened to Earth? What planet are they on now? What dangers and triumphs are they facing?
9. Write from the point of view of an old car that just got a new paint job.
10. Your great grandfather recently passed away. His Will only read "My golden key necklace and matching music box goes to (your name)." His vast fortune? That's up to you to find and claim.

- A title
- Authors name (this needs to be you)
- Story between 1000-9000 words (words under or over will NOT BE COUNTED)
