Jack Thompson, there have been two extremely violent school-shootings in Minnesota, and GTA isn't helping.Cup Of Noodles said:WhichMino said:I agree with what that guy is saying.
It might not help but it isn't like kids have never been violent before it.Mino said:Jack Thompson, there have been two extremely violent school-shootings in Minnesota, and GTA isn't helping.Cup Of Noodles said:WhichMino said:I agree with what that guy is saying.
I think the media has more effect on the kids than the parents themselves, and GTA is an example of how little people do to stop children from seeing the things that they shouldn't. It disgusts me that pornography was knowingly sold in the game, I don't care if it was hacked so that it could be accessed, it was still in the game.SPORGE27 said:It might not help but it isn't like kids have never been violent before it.Mino said:Jack Thompson, there have been two extremely violent school-shootings in Minnesota, and GTA isn't helping.Cup Of Noodles said:WhichMino said:I agree with what that guy is saying.
I still say it stems to how they are raised and is ultimately the fult of either the parent or the kid is
a. nuts.
b. just naturally violent.
c. It could also be caused by hazing and bullying in school. That can truely make a kid hate someone enough to kill them.
Now I agree that the porno thing was too much, and kinda, well why would you do that?Mino said:I think the media has more effect on the kids than the parents themselves, and GTA is an example of how little people do to stop children from seeing the things that they shouldn't. I'll never judge the industry by one game and that is where Jack Thompson is terribly wrong.SPORGE27 said:Now I agree that the porno thing was too much, and kinda, well why would you do that?Mino said:I think the media has more effect on the kids than the parents themselves, and GTA is an example of how little people do to stop children from seeing the things that they shouldn't. but you can't judge an industry on one game, may be the company that made it but not the whole industry.
And the media does have an impact, many just don't see it. Oprah alone can make or break a book with so much as a mumble. and Newscasters bend the truth for their ratings benifit.
Of coarse the media is responsible for many things, but in the end you control what you do, you have the final yes or no vote in what you do. I might sound weird for saying this but if you choose to do evil, you will get it in the end. But there is nothign wrong with a little fictional violence every once in a while.
