♡ Welcome to my Tie-dye thread!! ♡
I've decided to make my own thread to show off my tie-dye creations! I'm a big fan of making tie-dye clothes, and though I don't currently have a station in my house where I can tie-dye fabrics, I'll definitely be updating this thread when Spring/Summer rolls around and I do make something!
This coming Summer I'm planning on working on many projects. I love looking at different ideas online and I have a bunch that I'd like to try out! I can't wait to make some stuff and show it to you guys!
♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
Here's some projects which I made in June 2019 that I'd like to share:
This was my first attempt at a rainbow across the shirt. I actually got the shape right, which was great for my first try, but unfortunately for this batch I didn't have any soda ash to soak the shirts in so the dyes didn't hold in the shirt as well. I'm going to attempt this again next time I get the chance to make tie-dye shirts, because I absolutely love this design and I think it would look gorgeous in full color!
Instruction: For this shirt I pinched it on the bottom-right corner and carefully bunched it up in the shape of an arch. This would probably have been easier to do if I had drawn a guide line, but I decided to eyeball it instead. From there I used rubber bands to separate each section of color, and used the dye from there, being sure that the colors didn't bleed into each other too much.

This was another design that I attempted to replicate on a tie dye shirt. Unfortunately it doesn't look much like a flower ^^;
I'm not sure if I'm gonna try this again anytime soon. I might try it again once I'm more experienced with making tie-dye shirts.
Instruction: For this shirt I think I just pinched in the middle, picked up the shirt, and placed rubber bands around it for each separate section. Not a whole lot of effort went into this one.

This is my favorite of the set of shirts that I made (ofc because I'm a huuuuuge rainbow fanatic!). Even though the colors are more faded than I was expecting (again, I didn't soak the shirts in soda ash) I'm still super proud of it!!
Instruction: For this shirt, instead of doing the traditional spiral-from-the-middle, I pinched it on the left side and twisted it from there. It's a pretty interesting effect!

I know that the colors pink, purple, and turquoise always look really good together, so when making this shirt I decided to use those three colors. I wish it had less white on it, but I still really love this color combo!
Instruction: As is tradition, I made this spiral shirt by pinching in the middle and twisting counter-clockwise.

This shirt was the last one I made in this bunch. I had to use all my leftover dye, since I believe that dye is only good for about 72 hours after mixing with water. Nonetheless, I actually really like wearing this shirt quite a bit. It's my most oddball shirt and I think it matches my oddball personality lol
Instruction: For this shirt I simply pinched the bottom-right and top-left corners, made the shirt into a straight line, and put rubber bands to section off parts of the shirt, using the remaining colors that I had wherever. I think I attempted a sort-of "dark rainbow" schema here.

Anyways, that's all I have for now. Hopefully this Summer I'll get around to making some more stuff. I'm especially excited to attempt to tie-dye a sheet set for myself!! :-D
