Why didn't I know this?!

I dropped my character on a square with a chair in it and she just plopped down on it.
So poor Isabelle was next. She does look adorable sitting there, though, waiting for my sorry buns to get on with construction.

It's such a dumb, minute little detail, and I love it.
I'm forever 5 in my head, I swear.

The best part of this is, you can pose villagers for photos!

It doesn't work with just chairs, either. You can pop them in front of anything they can interact with (like instruments, for example), and if they're facing the right way, they'll start doing their thing.

I'm going to go on a major villager-dropping spree.

...that sounds horrible out of context.

I dropped marshal 11 times in a row to make him sweep lol. I'm a little evil I guess.. brings out my inner sim player.

I never knew you could move villagers during construction until I realized it yesterday. Never thought about chairs.

Hehehe. XD I hear you. Good thing Animal Crossing isn't like the Sims then (even though personally, I'd really like it if it was like the PC version)? If you want to know evil, talk to me about the things I did with the Sims. <.< :p.

Once I get Pudge (and once my game comes in the mail), I'll "make him" stuff his cute bear cub cheeks with donuts then. xD lol ><

Like Voluptua said, you can pretty much place villagers in front of, or on top of, any interactive object.

But just as a heads up, this distracts villagers from reacting to placing items. Meaning, if you put a villager in a chair, they wouldn't nod their head or make hearts when you place another item in the room. So if you want to make sure to give a villager "the perfect home" (not sure if you can call it that since the villagers will accept any house you give them), you might want to take that into consideration. This is just a heads up though, you don't need to follow this advice.

Villagers will react differently to the same thing--try it. You can put out I dunno...a piranha...and they'll give you hearty-hearts, then if you chuck the piranha and then put it out again, they'll nod their head. Or if you put a banana outside, they'll nod, then if you drop a banana inside (so to speak), they'll give you the hearts (also so to speak). So the reactions don't even really seem tied to the items; it's just a roster of reactions they get when you put stuff out.

I never got to play a SIMs game for an extended period of time, but I do like having control. Hehe..

Personally I just love watching villagers freak out when you hold them in the air - makes me feel like a jedi.
I think I'm more like a Sith Lord. If there's another sponsored Splatfest for Splatoon, I'll probably go team evil again. N-not because I'm bad or anything! *coughs*

That sort of reminds me of the cake scene in Matilda. I feel stuffed just thinking about it.

This cutie pie showed up shortly after my discovery. He doesn't look pleased.

EDIT: Kevin, whose house I'm making now, still reacts to while I do while he's sitting down.

Ahhh, this is SO CUTE! I didn't know! I knew you could drag the characters around but I had no idea you could place them in chairs! It's so cute! >w<
Thanks for sharing!

Whaaaat!? How was this not common knowledge?
I'm going to have so much fun making them interact with things <3
