The alternate colors for the fruit furniture pieces got me thinking...

Wouldn't it be nice to have different variations of your native fruit? Like green and yellow apples, yellow peaches, bosc (brown) pears, blood oranges, and black or rainier cherries. Mechanically, they'd be identical to the normal colors, but they'd look so cool! I know it's an impossibility given how Nintendo loves consistency, but it would add so much visual flair to orchards, forests, ect. It's a massive ask considering we're not even getting alternate tropical fruits back, but a crow can dream.

Makes me wish ACNH had a mod scene that wasn't constantly getting narced on by other players and subsequently kneecapped by Nintendo.

Kind of, but without that luxe sheen that perfect fruit had. These would just be regular-smegular produce but in different colors.

I will say that is another thing that should've been brought back. Perfect fruits when you sell them gave you more bells but it would be even cooler if you can use them to make like "Perfect Fruit" furniture from crafting.

If NH wasn't made by Nintendo and was some indie PC game, I bet there probably would be stuff along these lines. Stardew Valley has a very active modding scene, for example.

If New Horizons was going yo get future update, or even as an idea for a future game in the series (if there is one) I agree it would be nice if there were fruit tree variants. An orchard of green, yellow and red apples would be so lovely.

Perhaps next time they'll consider adding it inini don't necessarily want a perfect fruit scenario, just a pumpkin one where the tree is planted and get one of a set number of fruit colours. I really like how we customise the pumpkin items with coloured pumpkins and it would be a nice touch if we could do that for the fruit DIYs too.

I have peaches and some of the peach furniture can be customized to either the normal peaches or golden peaches. I’m not sure about other fruits.

That's a great idea! I hope they either bring back perfect fruits or add fruit variations into the game on this new update.

A good way to reintroduce perfect fruit organically into NH could be to have the in-game mum send you a letter with a perfect/rare version of your native fruit attached.

Even better, what if they brought back perfect fruit but applied it to all harvestable foods. Then when you cooked you could use either normal foods to create a normal recipe, or if you used perfect foods you could create a perfect recipe.

Honestly, it would be nice to have different colour apples and pears. I'm a green grocer irl so I see all kinds of strange colour fruit which would be really nice to see in animal crossing
