Hello friends!

I like listening to music while writing assignments, studying, drawing or doing anything at my desk. I've been listening to a lot of videogame and movie soundtracks, but I'm getting tired of them, so I would love to get some recommendations! What are your go-to study beats? Drop a link!

I love discovering new music genres, so anything is appreciated. Preferably music without lyrics, but even music with lyrics is great - I'll just use it at other occasions!

Here are some of my frequently-running study playlists:

I just put on the music that I enjoy listening to when I do work. It’s mostly background noise as I hate total silence unless it is necessary.

So what music do you enjoy? I'm looking for recommendations ^^ I can't sit in silence either, so I get it hehe

I always love listening to tons of VGM I'm familiar with. But my most favorite VGM to listen to are the ones from My Singing Monsters. Whether that would be official or fanmade, I can't get enough of it. (Tell me why I have yet to have an MSM account?)

oh i'm quite chaotic, i'll just put all my liked songs on spotify on shuffle and hope for the best 😅

When it comes to art, it depends what I'm drawing! I like to change the songs I play based off the mood/theme/content of whatever I'm drawing. For my own OCs, I have playlists for most of them that I listen to. For my friend's OCs, I listen to their playlists if they have one. Otherwise I go to whatever songs I know that are of a similar mood.

If I'm lazy, I default to a few set playlists/artists -- sometimes video game OSTs or just artists I like (recently it'd be Yuki Kajiura or just a .hack ost playlist, MAISONdes, YOASOBI, Reona, Yorushika, or... vocaloid songs/utaite. me big weeb). Sometimes I go to like... Avril Lavigne or a Forever21 spotify playlist or something. if i'm drawing clothes usually heh.

When I'm trying to focus on work though, it's definitely some song that doesn't have lyrics that I can understand. Sometimes a single song on loop. anything that will just become background noise but that i still like

I don't really study anymore but when I did this ghibli jazz would always be my go-to!

otherwise, since I work from home I just listen to whatever I feel like! I do also have a playlist I listen to when I go to sleep but that might be counter-productive here...

Ok. Y’all ready??? It’s my bday so I can post whatever I wanna hear. This is my current listening to in order cuz I’m feeling very music…
(I’m sorry to whoever is trying to follow my dark footsteps. It’s where I am right now)

My all time favorite playlist for over 10 years.. It's hell to listen to though if you don't have Youtube Premium 😔 and I don't have Youtube Premium

Not as good as the first playlist but still a classic in my mind

GREAT for painting while imagining what it's like to live in the Bladerunner universe.. quite ambient at times

Get lost in the future funk 🩷🧡💛💚💙

Classical music with a nice beat

video game soundtracks are made to keep players more engaged so i definitely recommend them for studying! i had to go through a lot of grueling and boring training before i started at on of my jobs and what kept me focused were the HALO soundtracks, hollow knight soundtrack, and one of my all-time favourites: the NieR gestalt/replicant soundtrack! some NieR tracks contain vocals but they're in a completely made up language so i personally don't find it distracting at all.

UUh I love VGM so I'll check those out too. I can listen to the same vgm tracks on loop for hours without getting bored. I agree, I don't mind vocals as long as they're in a language I don't understand (so sometimes I like j-pop and k-pop too). If it's music with vocals I'm constantly busy listening to the lyrics and deciphering what they mean, which interferes with studying ^^'

These days for me i dig the mind zero soundtrack like thats one of the games im getting for my bday and i got it for my bday cause the soundtrack just came on my feed one day and since then i've been digging it alot.

Studying is impossible for me unless it's silent.

However, I use sports games to make my own collection of custom characters. (I have over 100 at this point) Sometimes they take me several hours. I have a playlist of nearly 400+ songs and a set of podcasts to listen to. The songs include absolutely every genre under the sun. If it's catchy, I add the music.

Even when most of my time is spent making characters and not bothering with the actual 'sports' part.
