There doesn't seem to be a huge crowd of people on The Bell Tree who likes J-pop from what I've seen, but ZARD is probably my favourite musician. Those who have watched anime might not know that they've been exposed to her work already.

Seeing as it's her anniversary of debut, I wanted to make a tribute thread to anyone who might be interested in her music, work and life.

ZARD is, for the most part, Izumi Sakai being the main vocalist and lyricist of the band's 150+ songs in her lifetime.
She was born on February 6, 1967 and passed away on May 27th, 2007 due to a cerebral contusion while recovering from cervical cancer at the age of 40.

While she lived a mostly private life, her songs were always relatable and full of hope and strength.
She looked to never age, dressed simply, was full of love and was so genuine.

Most people may have heard of her work through Detective Conan, Slam Dunk, and Dragon Ball.

I'm not sure what else to mention, but I'd be happy to recommend songs, albums, or mention some other information on her life.
If you'd like to listen to a song that accompanies a mood, there's always something for that too.

The irreplaceable thing,
Whenever I talk to you,
I'll be influenced by the happy things,
The sad things too, I want to accept them all.
A different morning sun will rise.
This feeling overflowing from the springs of my heart.

Thank you for your songs of hope, a hope that will always be sung in the hearts of those who choose to listen to your songs. --
