Welcome to my 2nd island, L’eclatant! I wanted to make another island, because I had too many ideas that didn’t fit my “main island aesthetic”, which is a natural aesthetic. L’eclatant is full of fantasy and enchanted forest vibes! My ultimate alter ego/OC vibe. I picked this island, because in the entirety of the almost two years I’ve had it, I’ve not gotten it anywhere NEAR where I want it to be. I still haven’t even unlocked terraforming on this island yet! So, my “New Year, New Horizons“ goal is to see my vision for this island to fruition.

And to bring us all the way from July 2022, when I last played this island, to yesterday when I got on and my villagers all gave me a bunch of flack for not being around for 5 months. Here, you can see the enchanted forest custom design I’m using as my main path way around the island.

Here is the cobblestone/flower/mushroom custom design I’m using around shops and houses.

Today, I celebrated with Francine! I gave her some wrapped Peaches, which she said she knew would be delicious! They were freshly picked, so I know she’s right about that.

I also managed to get some more path down! It’s going to be a long process to get L’éclatant where I want it to be, but I’m more excited than ever about it!

Another successful day on L’éclatant! The villagers seem happy about their new pathways and Hyacinth lamps to illuminate the way.

There’s also some new bamboo shoots sprouting up around one of the lakes! This lake promises to be a prime relaxation place, as the cherry blossom branches and petals just draw you in.

We’ve received many Lily of the Valley donations from our sister island, Woxton. Up next, our plans are to continue with pathways for villagers, as well as the addition of new bridges and inclines. By the end of the week, we hope to see L’éclatant become a 3-star island, at which point…we’ll be overwhelmed with what to do next. Stay tuned to see what else we accomplish this week!

As anticipated, Bamboo Pond, as it’s been affectionately dubbed, is indeed a prime relaxation location on L’éclatant. Judy was found singing by the pond, and Rosie was fishing. They also enjoyed just lounging by the pond, taking in the smells and sounds of the island.

Today’s island accomplishments brought more traversable paths around the island. As of this evening, there is now a fully enclosed pond. This will allow the villagers to get up close to the pond without having to worry about getting their feet all snowy. As you can see, the Aurora Borealis was gracing L’éclatant with its beauty tonight, making all of the villagers very happy. We hope to have our first hybrid flowers sprouting any day now!

Another beautiful night on L’éclatant, even graced with a visit from Celeste. I managed to lay down some more path around the houses. Chrissy and Francine seem pleased about it!

Étoile and Chai got some new paths too, though, they were both already in for the night. I did check in with them both eventually before they went to bed, and they were happy with the additions of pathway and Hyacinth lamps.

As I promised the villagers, we’d add a new bridge or incline in the coming days and we’ve delivered on a fully funded Red Zen bridge! The island was divided on the choice of bridge, but Red Zen squeaked out a win.

However, my favorite interaction of the night was running into Chrissy and Francine discussing their ideologies on love.

Another typical night on L’éclatant - laying a bunch of paths for the villagers to walk along. I hate so much to see them only able to walk through snow, especially since some of them don’t wear ANY shoes! Paths are slowly but surely making their way through the island, and soon it will be fully traversable - no pole vaulting needed! Today’s paths focus on my little slice of paradise, an island within an island, if you will. Looking at my map inset, you’ll see that my house actually IS on an island within an island, which is part of why I chose this map. Hehe.

To celebrate the development of our enchanted forest, I’ve redesigned my house to what I felt best resembled a fairytale house in the woods. It will be ready tomorrow! I’m excited to see it completed!

I also paid a visit to the newly completed Red Zen bridge - it is more beautiful than I imagined, and I’m sure our villagers will love fishing from it, and just standing there listening to the sounds of the waterfall.

And for a bit of randomness for the evening, I managed to catch my 3rd Emperor Butterfly! Those have always been my favorite in the game, so I‘m looking forward to giving them to Flick the next time he’s on L’éclatant. Marty was quite happy for me. Probably because this was one of the bugs that keeps hovering by his house. Sometimes he’s friendly with them, some times they give him the squirms.

Tonight started with me seeing my newly completed home renovation! I was so impressed with it, I HAD to take pictures to send the villagers, and my mom of course. I know plenty of folks are going to want to come by and offer gardening ideas. Hopefully, they’ll just stick to watering my flowers for me.

My favorite addition from tonight is a new pergola and eating spot, right by the shore. I hope to see the villagers enjoying it soon. I know I will be, how could you not enjoy this lovely spot. In the coming days, I’m certain it will only get more attractive.

Just a few feet away, a beautiful slice of the moon fell to our island. What is even more splendid is that our tides have not been affected by this. It also happened to fall right by a star fragment from a heavy meteor shower a couple of weeks ago. There must be a magnetic pull between the two that brought them to a similar landing place; or perhaps the earth has a magnetic field beneath that specific location. Regardless, they fell right by the river, so it’s another relaxing spot. I’m starting to come to the realization that there isn’t a place on L’éclatant that ISN’T relaxing.

Tonight on L’éclatant, I found some more tranquil locations that I know I’ll be frequenting in the future. A rose bed by a waterfall, with the dim, comforting light of one of those moon fragments that I happened upon. I totally see myself falling asleep for what I intend to be minutes, that turn to hours, listening to the waterfalls. Another interesting thing happened…I notice a shrine, or…gazebo of some time pop up by the new Red Zen bridge. I plan to investigate it more, but I felt the need to do something else...

I HAD to check out the view of this spectacular Aurora Borealis from this bridge. I pretty much entirely forgot about the massive new structure next to me.

I finally managed to get myself together enough to travel to the other side of the island. I found a mysterious bottle with something inside. The first of its kind that I recall actually picking up!

After opening the bottle, I found a DIY recipe! Unfortunately it was one that I already had. At least the note was very sweet. Perhaps Marcie will find her way to my campsite one day.

I ended the evening visit my favorite villager, Ione. Her house looked absolutely beautiful under the glow of the aurora.

Thankfully, she was home and I got to spend some time with her before turning in for the evening.

L’éclatant during the day is not only a rare sight, but an equally beautiful sight. Today, Leif was visiting! I bought some rose seeds from him and hope to plant them tomorrow.

I also went to Able’s today and bought some new clothes! It feels nice to see my closet expanding. I also spotted a bridge I was unfamiliar with, as everything is new under the light of day. I think this spot is simply beautiful. I can’t wait to see how it lights up at night.

Ahh, the familiar dim light of nighttime on L’éclatant. Tonight I found a most magnificent stone artwork on the ground. Perhaps one of these days, I can piece together all of the moon fragments that keep falling and put a full moon in the center of this beautiful piece.

Today was a bitterly cold, dreary day on L’éclatant. So much so that daytime looked like evening. Some eerie things have happened today though, making the enchanted forest feel like it’s actually inhabited by spell-casters. Just yesterday, I’d mentioned how I hoped that one day, I’d be able to piece together the moon fragments that I’ve found to make a whole moon and lo and behold, IT HAPPENED. TODAY.

I also ran into an ACTUAL spirit. I may not look distressed, but trust me, I was distressed. I decided not to talk to this spirit, though I might in the future. He does at least look like a friendly ghost...maybe his nickname can be Casper, hehe. Yes, I went there.

It’s so funny, the other day, I’d mentioned that I needed Flick to stop by so that I could give him my three Emperor Butterflies to make a model for me. Well today, he happened to be here checking out the local insects!
403BBDB1-6578-4397-92C3-6B91ECC1B5F0.jpeg

He didn’t seem too enthused to see me at first, but that changed when I let him know why I was talking to him.

Today was a personal day on L’éclatant. I needed it. I went to the ABD and went on a spending spree. First thing I wanted to change was my hair. It’s not to say I didn’t like my hair, I did, but I wanted it to be as enchanted and vibrant as the way our slice of paradise is becoming. There wasn’t exactly the perfect color, so I went with one that I liked.
14ED2DE6-E7C4-42D9-AA1D-9517F6C5B976.jpeg

Next, I remembered that those fun color contacts are a thing, so I tried out my FAVORITE color - Tiffany Blue; well, as close ans you can get in ACNH. Obviously, I loved them!

I didn’t feel my current wardrobe match my new look, so I went ahead and changed! I feel much better after finding something that compliments my new style. Tomorrow, I hope to get outside during the day time on L’éclatant and see the hustle and bustle of the island in full, broad daylight.

L’éclatant was graced with a camper tonight. As oddly cute as he is, I won’t be adding him to the permanent villager list. It was nice to chat with him briefly though.

After leaving the camp grounds, I made my way to my new favorite star-gazing spot. I stood by my Libra star sign, and like magic, a shooting star appeared and I made a wish. Hopefully, it will come true!

That familiar twinkling noise of a star, made me realize that it was likely that Celeste was here again. I went to visit Chrissy and Francine and there she was! We chatted, and she gave me one of her beloved recipes. Then we gazed and the stars together, hoping to make a wish while in each other’s company. It didn’t happen, but we did at least enjoy a beautiful, clear, night sky.

Of course, as soon and she left our gazing post, a shooting star came along, and I made my wish. Poor Celeste, completely missed this beautiful star.
