Oh, thank you so much! I've been meaning to get into those games.
And you never know, maybe it will be an anime one day! Tales of Zestiria became one and it had cutscenes like that throughout the game, too~
Tales of Symphonia & Tales of The Abyss had the same treatment, so it could happen one day! Seems like it'd make for a good show~

dude that would actually be amazing! i'd love to see something like that oh my GOSH. i think it could have the potential to be an amazing anime as well AAAAAA i really hope something like that happens even if it's only a few episodes haha
I saw a little bit of gameplay on a stream and it definitely looks really fluid and easy to get a grip of. I'm glad you're enjoying it so far anyway, definitely seems like it'll be a great experience! And the reviews have been excellent too, overall I'm pretty excited to try it when I can. :D
Aw, thank you! It's definitely a slow and frustrating process sometimes but it's still a lot of fun to see progress. You make YT videos? That's pretty cool! I honestly have no idea how video editing works so it's all beyond me, but I can imagine it'd be time-consuming to get the effect you want too. What kind of videos do you make?

And yes! I'm so glad we seem to have the same preferences when it comes to character design and development lol. Hm, maybe they've simplified the combat for Berseria, which could be a good thing. It can be a little daunting when there's a huge complex feature that you can't get the hang of, especially if it takes a lot if reading up on. Idk about you, but I get a little bogged down when I have to do some in-depth reading just to understand a certain gameplay mechanic if I don't understand it right away. But it feels good once you finally figure it out, I suppose!
I'm glad you're feeling better! It's no fun being sick, but I hope it gave you a chance to chill out and enjoy some games. And wow, that's a lot for you to look forward to lol. Definitely going to be an eventful year in gaming. Horizon Zero Dawn looks pretty fantastic, though I haven't looked into it too much. I saw some screenshots lately and it seemed very familiar, but I'm not sure if my memory is just confusing it with another game I saw last year... It was a trailer showcasing facial rigging through those sensors you place on the body and it replicates the precise animation through the model. There's DEFINITELY a name for it but I cannot remember it for the life of me right now lmao. The character in the screenshots looked very similar to the one I saw in that trailer, so I'm thinking it must've been the same game. I had no idea it was coming so soon!
Yess I do the same thing. ;__; I always compare to Symphonia too. The music for Legendia is amazing, still one of my favorite osts to date! It's definitely one of the more overshadowed games, but the graphics and and story were still good. So if you find it for cheap, I'd definitely recommend picking it up. :") Yeah, I don't remember Vesperia very intimately either hahaha
Yup, Berseria is really fun so far. I love how it feels more like the older games. I think ever since graces, they games have felt lackluster to me. And I have played Symphonia1&2, Abyss, Legendia, Vesperia, Graces, Xillia1&2, Zestiria, (currently) Berseria and a little bit of Phantasia and Destiny (didn't finish and dont know if I will haha ;;) And then I read the manga for Innocence. How about you?
Aw, I'm sorry to hear you weren't well! I hope you're feeling better now, and I hope you've managed to relax and indulge in some Berseria! I haven't picked it up yet, I think I might wait until later in the year since I have Zelda and Nier Automata next month, I haven't been this excited about so many games in a long time lol. But yeah I've been good, trying to finish up some art so I can share it here eventually but I'm honestly slow as hell lmao. How are things on your end? Any other games you're looking forward to this year?
Yeah I can see myself having the same opinion about it as yourself, it's really tragic when a sequel is stripped of everything that made its predecessor so great, and instead has new protagonists that are shoehorned in there with the original cast taking a backseat. Yikes, I hope I don't sound overly picky about small things though haha. We seem to be of similar opinions though, so that's good! I'm so glad we've been able to discuss this, I love hearing your input.

You know, the funny thing is years ago I was part of a really small community that did a weekly commentary on one member playing Abyss, and that was the first time I saw it. I remember thinking "holy ****, this combat looks really complex and hard to manage". I guess I haven't put enough hours in yet to really find it any different from Symphonia but I read briefly about the fonons thing and it confused me too! Are the more recent games that complex as well?
Yes I love it. ;__; Still one of my all-time favorites. ToS is the game that got me first into the Tales of franchise and been a fan since! And I agree completely. But to be fair, the game is pretty old and a lot of the fandom is now dormant or raving about ToZ/ToB now. sobs
HELLO you don't know me but I saw "ultimate ToS fangirl" and I had to swoop in and say that you are now automatically one of my favorite people. \o/
Also, sorry for my late response. I haven't been super active here the past few days.
loooool yes! That one scene with Guy had me in fits. Sadly I haven't put much time into the game beyond that so I dunno how else that's going to develop, but I'm curious. Actually I haven't touched that game in many months... I think at this point I might just restart it, or spend a lot of time reading over Luke's diary which is a GREAT feature omg. I guess Symphonia had something similar but no where near the depth of Luke's diary, it's really good for going over details. So maybe I'll just do that. I don't know how I feel about Ion either, and what really gets me is that "fon" sounds wayyy too similar to the word "phone". Every time he's mentioned I can't help but hear PHONE MASTER ION.

How do you find the combat in Abyss so far? Are the skills you unlock as you progress pretty easy to chain?
LMAO yeah, I think it was her ditzy crap that bugged me too initially. Like I seem to remember when they were trying to find the pope in Meltokio after he escapes, they're looking for a switch or something and Colette trips and falls into the bookcase and it like... solves the puzzle? Like wut? I remember thinking " y tho" during a lot of those instances but I guess it was just the cute clumsy humour they were just trying to get across lol.

NO WAY I had no idea they changed the voice actors for the original cast?! Why would they do that? Symphonia had such amazing voice acting, that really saddens me. Maybe a budget issue or the cast moving on to Vesperia, though I'm unfamiliar with the voice talents for that game. Now I'm curious as to how bad it actually is, I think I'll just check out a few episodes of a playthrough or something. I tried emulating it a while ago but Dolphin really doesn't like Wii remotes so I just stopped trying. Good thing I didn't actually go out and buy it!
I haven't looked into the production much either, it was just a wild guess since there seems to be a stark difference in character scripts, but who knows! Btw, isn't Guy hilarious? His phobia of women cracks me up, especially around Tear. Luke is okay, but the one thing I like about him so far is the way he beats on Mieu. I really love the way he commented on its annoying voice, which is SO TRUE. Clever writing, I love it when they do that lmao.

That is very true! Speaking of Symphonia though, did you ever play the sequel on Wii? I haven't yet even though I probably should. I'm so glad we can actually discuss this though, I'm in the same boat, I don't know anyone else that enjoys the series (or even one game) so it gets a little lonely in the fandom!
No worries! I'm actually kind of slow about replying to VMs sometimes because I like to think about my reply LOL. I hope that's okay!

Yeah, I'll admit I began to accept Colette more towards the end of the game. At the beginning I found her to be irritating BUT... I'll confess, I started to like her towards the end. On my first playthrough I got her Flanoir scene and I actually really liked her dialogue with Lloyd, she started to feel a little more mature then and I guess that's when my opinion of her changed. Didn't really like her in the anime though, her portrayal felt like a huge step back, but I thought the way Lloyd interacted with her was actually really cute omg. Like when he spooks her by pretending to sleep on the grass. That was adorable. q-q
