Exactly luls~ Some may translate directly from how they would say things in their first language, and different people have different grasp/proficiency of the English language. But that's really interesting, what is your first language? I see that you live in Canada? Could it be French?

I can finally see it! Yup I agree. Most of the maids who came over were too young! Of course they didn't know what to expect, but yeah like I said, my family is very empathetic and understanding so we didn't give them a lot of crap for decisions that they made. They just didn't realize that their employer paid thousands (up to 12K or more) to bring them over and get their documents ready. And the money won't be refunded. It's not like they "can't" run away but more to "shouldn't". English aren't our first languages (the poster is Arab) so it would be great if you don't take our wordings too literally.
