Well, shiny Pokemon usually have a 1 in a few thousand chance of being found. By getting every pokemon in the game and completing the pokedex you usually get a shiny charm (newer games) and it makes the chances 1 in a few hundred. And usually people are upset when someone hacks to make a pokemon shiny or be stronger (better ivs, nature, ability) since usually itd be very VERY hard to get.
I breed my Pokemon myself that I use in tournaments and such, train them and dont hack. Ive caught a few shinies too (none are competitive though). Thing is, people can spend hundereds of hours playing and never get one, so when people hack for one they usually feel like their hard work wasnt special.
I usually get real ones only, but I have some hacks since, I like shinies for fun and theres no way I can catch a shiny minior (it knows self destruct and can blow up before being caught). Plus ive never once hatched an egg that was shiny.
