It is true that it will be painful, but I am cautiously optimistic that everything will be ok. I will keep hoping it will be ok until I have reason to think otherwise. All I can do is hope that he will be different as President than he was as a candidate. The Republicans know they can't just go in and destroy everything without resistance/rioting from the country. Any change will be relatively slow.

Ah yes it is nice that we can pick our candidates, but Trump would NEVER have been the candidate if the Republicans had been allowed to pick.

Oh of course it isn't a justification! I would never claim otherwise. We have been complacent and lazy about it and we have allowed ourselves to be xenophobic. It definitely needs to be corrected! They are good, but sad. I agree!

That being said I shall stay strong so don't worry about me! There are still good and decent people in this country (Hillary won the popular vote after all!), and we won't sit back and watch our country get destroyed by that terrible goblin of a man!

Indeed it is sad. It is the same situation we had with Obama except he won. They could say whatever they wanted, but I know that many refused to vote for him because he was black (and they thought he was Muslim... :sigh: ). We are very isolated in the US. To get to another country I would have to drive for approx. 20 hours at least! Because of this it is very easy to develop a xenophobic/isolationist mindset.

My opinion on the asshats who say things like 'go back to Africa' is... 'Oh I'm sorry! I didn't realize you were full-blooded Cherokee/Iriqouis/Mohawk/Seminole... Oh you aren't? Then shut your ****ing mouth! You came here illegally too you idiot!' Also when they say 'Make America 'GREAT' again.' What/when are you referring to exactly? Any time other than now was ****ty for anyone who wasn't a white male. Just say what you mean, which is 'Make America WHITE again!' >:C

Yes he spoke English extremely well, but he had a bit of an accent which is perfectly logical. It was not an issue of not understanding him, it was just 'Oh you have an accent? Get out of here!' kinda thing. It is even sadder when I think about my friend Anna. She is a young German girl and she visited me this year for 2 weeks. We had a big road-trip and she was a bit nervous because of her accent. Not a single person acted rude or xenophobic of her when she spoke. Instead they went into 'Oh! What a cute accent! Where are you from?' I can't help but think that this was because it was a 'European accent' (I know Spanish is too, but the racists here forget that there is a country called SPAIN so Spanish accent=Mexican not 'sophisticated European'), and that she is white...

Oh and the 'incidents' my professor had were just people being racist jerks. He was never verbally abused or physically attacked, they were just being *******s to him. That's all!

There are still plenty of good people in this country, and I sincerely hope that many of the ones who voted for Trump are being honest when they say it was because of economic policy and job creation. If that is true they will not stand for the racist bull**** either! it has been a long few days, but I am gaining some perspective and relaxing for now. I am prepared to get out there and protest if need be!

I think the California thing is just a rumor. States get all riled up and threaten to leave all the time, but nothing ever comes of it. Texas is the most notorious one.

Seriously though, at this point all we can do is wait and see. Remember he is just 1 man and the President can't do anything without the support of Congress. While some things may move backwards I don't think it will get as bad as we fear. Congress isn't stupid. If they ACTUALLY try to do everything he said there would be so much rioting it would verge on civil war. Either way, in 2 years we will have another election that could allow Democrats to retake Congress and then we could block anything he tried to do! ^-^

I sincerely hope he will not get to do half of what he plans, but he seems to have no issue with 'legal' immigration. If you are coming in as a student you would be fine I'm sure! Hopefully your stay would be alright. I cannot say for sure. You will be better off if you are lighter skin though, and do not look 'Mexican'. I know that is ridiculous, but my Spanish professor who was from Spain had only had a few incidents in the decades he had been here. Most were only after he spoke or people saw his name. Otherwise he was left alone as he looked 'White'. It is absolutely ridiculous, but the people who will be hateful are the ones who assume all Hispanics that are slightly dark skinned are 'Mexican' despite the fact that there are over 20 Spanish speaking countries in the world... :sigh: They are the same ones who say the people need to stop speaking 'Mexican' and speak 'American' so there is no point arguing.

Yeah I can see that. We have an unfortunately large amount of influence in the world. I had not heard of her, but that is concerning. Hopefully she will not pick up steam! I had heard about what is going on in Germany though. I have a very good German friend who lives in Cologne, so she has kept me up to date on that.

Christmas decorations are fun for sure, but yeah... Part of what makes them special is that they aren't up year round. A solid month of Christmas is enough for me.

Thank you, but unfortunately it did not go well as I'm sure you know... Me and several of my friends and family members are legitimately scared of what will happen now... The Canadian immigration website crashed several times last night from being flooded by Americans and I have actually been browsing the job listings for Canadian banks... :sigh: How is Spain reacting to it? Are you guys scared over there? The Ku Kluk Klan (a notorious white supremacist group in the US that used to lynch/murder black people) is celebrating the victory... They are even marching in a nearby town... ;^;

Welp! At least we both fail at technology! XD Maybe it is better I didn't get to see them! It would probably just make me hungry because they sound delicious! ^0^
I don't like to go out and do anything crazy on Halloween. In the states it seems to mostly be an excuse for people to drink like crazy, vandalize stuff, and wear skimpy costumes. I'm not really into any of that so I hang at home with my cats, watch movies, and hand out candy! ^-^

I am looking forward to Christmas! I get to see my sister and that is always nice! I don't really like that the Christmas decorations are out already though... They have been out since mid-October and I don't think they should be out until after Thanksgiving (4th Thursday in November). Just my opinion though! ^-^

Yeah Japanese cars are very reliable and high quality! ^-^ Oh yeah! You told me about those! They sounded delicious, so I hope you enjoyed them! I will have to try them someday! I hope you slept well that night! i just hung out and watched movies and ate candy! XD I didn't have any trick or treaters, so that was disappointing. It was a good Halloween in general though. ^-^

I was looking mostly at foreign/Japanese brands. I do not like the American car brands personally. It was a very long and stressful week, but I ended up going with a 2016 Honda Fit and I love it so far! ^-^ I will send you a pic or two as a PM! <3

Thank you! I should be fine. I have some good prospects, but I don't want to rush into it since it is such an important decision. True loans are often bad, but I don't have an extra $18,000.00 lying around so I don't have a choice! XD Ah well... Such is life! That is funny to think about how different your life will be when your father finishes paying his loan! Maybe you will be happily married and working in the US or Canada! ^.~

In bad news... I have to buy a new car... :C Mine has a mechanical issue that will cost anywhere from $1000-$2000 to fix. The car is 10 years old, has 140,000 miles on it, and is only worth $2000, so I can't really justify fixing it. :C Boo hiss! At least I work for a bank so I can get a car loan even if I wouldn't normally qualify!

Glad you understand! ^-^ That is kind of a shame that you don't have finals until after Christmas! We always have our before (unless they get delayed due to weather), and that way we don't have to worry about exams during Christmas break! ^-^ I'm sure that you won't fail any subjects! Yay for finally speaking to your tutor! I'm sorry you have been having difficulty getting information though! I don't like to ask favors, but as an adult you have to realize that it isn't WHAT you know, but WHO you know that is important! If you have connections you should definitely use them! I hope it works out! I would hate for you to have to change it since you seem so excited about it! :C

Oh my! It sounds like you have a very busy schedule. My senior year of college I had a full class schedule and two part time jobs, so I get how exhausted you must be! Hang in there! Ugh your schedule is so awkward for eating! That would be the worst part for me! XD My schedule is fine. I works the same hours and the same days every week, and I rarely have plans after work. I spent a lot of years having no free time, so I thoroughly enjoy it now! ^-^

I did restart my town (accidentally don't play when you are really sick! :C), but honestly I'm not terribly interested in continuing... My favorite part about the game has been this forum and meeting all of the people here! I'm thinking about starting a cycling town, but I'm not sure... Thank you so much for your offer!
