When you make a post, the thread goes up to the top so that people see. If no one says anything on the thread, it goes down and eventually goes to page 2, then to page 3, etc. When you "bump", you post something so that the thread will go up and others will see. If you still don't understand what it means to bump, let me know what you find confusing. I can explain further.
