Is the powersave a pretty safe method for saving files of towns? I have never done it before and I don't wanna mess up my town from not knowing what I'm doing. >_<

Random question but I saw your post in a thread about saving a copy of your town.
I CONSTANTLY fear my town corrupting. Whenever I touch my game cartridge I almost have a heart attack. X_x
Anyways, I don't hack my town, but is that the only way you can save a copy of it?
