    I wanted to show you as another fan - my original cartridge of Dragon Quest 4. (I also have the original manual). Since it's the American version it's Dragon Warrior.

    I also have 1 and 2. (Not 3 sadly).

    I had temporary access to a console so I was able to finish Dragon Quest 1 on the real cartridge.

    This copy of IV belonged to my grandfather. So it's been kept in very good condition.

    Playing Dragon Quest 1 on a real cartridge was nice (but gosh I don't know if I could do that again). They've really toned down the grinding on the remakes. I finished Dragon Quest 2 on the Switch and I've heard nightmares about the original version. I definitely prefer the original NES music over the remixes that they've been using in the ported versions.

    (hopefully when they remake 3 it'll be done justice).

    Oh that's super cool! I love that DQ is the sort of series that can be enjoyed through generations like that

    omg I played the original trilogy on mobile and it's wild to hear that the originals were more grindy 😭 I feel like recent titles have lightened up on it quite a bit, but so much of my memories of older DQ games are just running in circles hunting metal slimes ahaha

    I hope so too! I'm not sure if I'll get the HD-2D remake, but it looks totally gorgeous from what I've seen

    Mostly Grian since my boyfriend is also a fan and we watch together, some Mumbo, some Pearl, some Iskall, and sometimes Etho or Scar. Honestly tho I’d enjoy watching any, I gotta check out Skizz more because I really like his vibe on the server

    oh nice, my family and I actually got into it through Grian! this season we've been mostly keeping up with him and Gem, Scar, Joel, and Cleo—we haven't seen a lot of Skizz's episodes, but we know him from watching Impulse's Phasmophobia streams sometimes and he's very chill!
