Since I prefer the male Akito's persona from the anime, I can't support the pairing with Shigure. That dog simply doesn't come to me as a "weddable" man, I felt he was one of those singles-for-life.
Back in the day, I supported AkitoxTohru. Yes, really. Since the master of the family seemed to be quite off on the head, and also in heart, I felt he was the one hurting the most and Tohru would be able to heal him, or some other similar wishful thinking. You can't believe how much surprised I was while reading the manga and seeing how far the story strayed from my expectation...

Isuzu Sohma, the horse (mare?) of the zodiac. I really liked her character in the manga, it was a pity she didn't make it to the anime.
In the anime my fave was Akito (the HE Akito), but in the manga it was her.
