Step 1: I send Pet A from potatosack (my main) to you.
Step 2: Now that I have an empty slot, I receive Zap Pet from royalbacon (my side).
Step 3: Since you have Pet A, you send it to royalbacon?

You're right. ^^ The capitalization/no numbers/underscores is used to keep high trade value on pets, or just for aesthetics. I don't really mind a 'bad' name. All my pets have 'bad' names except for a few.
Could you transfer a pet to an account with 4 pets already? Will it prompt the other account to trade a pet in return?

Yep, I adopted yuyt43112! Neopians are very anal about petnames.. A pet shouldn't be worth less if it has an underscore in its name, or even numbers. Pet names like 'Blukt' are deemed well-named even though they sound kinda odd. Me0w_L4b and ___gellert__ are way more interesting!
By the way, is there a way to trade one pet for another? I want to zap Vrooom, but he's on my side account. ;A; -
