And there's always the option of powersaving which saves everything, but requires you buy a special device (that costs less than $20). If your save data means a lot to you I'd definitely consider that option too as it works with most 3DS games, including pokemon and other popular titles. It can be used to cheat as well, but a lot of people buy it for no other reason than to back up their data (as I will be doing soon after hearing one too many horror stories!)

Yeah, when you walk up to the board just use the option to write your own notice. Visitors in dreams can view the bulletins as well, so all you have to do is put one up, create the address, and remove it once that's done. Alternatively you can just leave it up (so you don't have to re-do it every time you update) and specify it's for dream visitors only. And honestly, people in general can be overly critical, and even more so on the internet. At the end of the day, it's your town, and your dream address, so you don't have to share it, and anybody who ends up there randomly because they have no friends addresses to visit are the last people whose criticisms I would listen to--anyways, they won't even know who you are so it's not like they'd be able to say anything directly to you! Tbh, some people would find something to complain about even if you had uncommon villagers and had poured hundreds of hours into creating a unique theme with custom patterns and everything #forgetthehaters XD

I think it's pretty strange too, tbh. Even the mayor, mii mask and all carries over, but not the contents of the house for some reason. To clarify, by current, I mean current at the time of creating the dream address, so honestly, it's worth creating one even before you're completely satisfied with your town--but keeping it to yourself so the only people who end up there are randoms with no address in mind/nothing better to do--and then updating it as often as you remember to do so You can even leave a notice on bulletin board saying something along the lines of, 'My town is currently under construction so this address is for back-up purposes only. There's nothing much to see here, but feel free to stay and look around.'

The interior of the house (excluding wallpaper and flooring) will be missing. However, badges, the bug & fish library, museum contents, and current inventory, including stuff in storage (once a new dresser is placed down) will still be there. I have two 3DS systems and the older one has software on it that exploits a vulnerability in the browser, so I can dump>inject data, but I can't, or rather, I'm not comfortable accessing files beyond .ram data. I have an acquaintance who would be able to access and possibly even repair any damage to other files though, and there are plenty of people on gbatemp that Chem could also contact that are able to do the same if [Chem is] willing to send out their original cartridge. I'm personally of the same mentality that it's worth a shot if it's not working anyways! I'll shoot off a PM to Chem shortly about the whole debacle :3 Ty again for getting the dream address to me!
