The definition of a fish story is an exaggerated, unbelievable story. A fish story is not true. Often, it is a humorous or over-the-top tale told for entertainment, based on the tendency for a fisherman to exaggerate the size of the fish that he caught, or the fish that he almost caught.

In honor of me finally hitting the 5000 fish " anglingfor perfection" achievement I'm giving away 10 golden rods to anybody who tells me a good fish story so they can continue their own fishing adventures.

Thank you to everybody who traded and provided me with fish bait! Especially @Jhine7 for the massive order I had to put in to finish.

Now onto the bugs!

I'll let others have the fishing rods but my (real-life/non-AC) story happened last summer/maybe 2 summers ago. Went fishing for the first time in 15+ years, essentially for the first real time in my life. Went with my girlfriend.

Caught/reeled in what was my first fish ever caught. My girlfriend wanted to take a picture, goes to take it off the hook and slips out of her hand, back into the water!

There goes my first and still only fish ever caught, back into the water... without evidence I ever caught the thing.

Ooh, I'll enter for my dad! He's the angler on our island, while I just bop along and decorate 😅

I used to be suuuuper into fishing when I was younger, say, 12-15. So I'm out at our city park lake, Tweety Bird kid's fishing pole in hand. We cast it in, wedged the thing under a tree root to move onto setting up another pole and, yeah, big catfish got onto that thing conveniently when I was Not paying attention. It yanks my poor little Tweety out from under the root, I go scrambling after it, slide down the embankment and almost fall into this nasty murky water without knowing how to swim.

I still don't know how this tiny little Tweety pole reeled in this catfish - not giant, but back then, a HUGE deal to me. I remember being afraid that the pole was gonna break. I remember being afraid I was gonna lose my pole or have to go into the water. I remember I won that tourney with that fish 😂
