Yeah mannequins were definitely a fun little addition, they might come back int he future once the game is more mature and we have more shop upgrades, we never know.
PS: now that i think about this, since we have wands, we might not get mannequins to be honest

Wait i thought we can put mannequins of our clothes? Like we can pick "display here" and it'll come out as a mannequin? I kinda don't understand what you guys talking about, i never played new leaf before. Mind telling me?
I dont remember 100 % but in ACNL you could unlock i think it was a total of three mannequins and you could put them down in your home and dress them up, people used them a lot in their homes to make funny photos and make the homes more lively basically. In terms of functionality you one you dressed the mannequin you could click on it and dress up according to how you dressed the mannequin up.

it would at least give her some use, especially this late. pass x of her checks for the DIY recipe, or receive a mannequin for every x number you pass to make them more exclusive. idk.

I miss the mannequins too! I'll admit I didn't use them a ton in New Leaf, but it was nice to have them. I'd love to see them come back in New Horizons! Hopefully they will if they end up adding Gracie in the future? Since we can't add the wetsuit to our magic wand I'd love to have mannequins on my rocks by the beach and have them wear the wetsuits. I have the wetsuits displayed on the rocks right now but I like that with the mannequins you had the "swap outfits" option which would make taking on & off the wetsuit that much easier!

i miss mannequins too! they were really cool for making outfits, and i remember sometimes when you went to a dream town, people would make little stories in the houses using them which was very creative 
I forget that not everyone has played the other games besides NH. The mannequin in NL was a full body one. Like the ones you would see in clothing department stores. You could outfit them and then use them as props for your rooms. This would be amazing for DA or having a fake person man a stand of some sort.

When seeing reviews or footage of New Horizons I thought wands were a cool new addition, but in my person use they simply proved to be clunky. I thought it was just saving a sort of "preset" of sorts. But I am unable to mix and match. If I want to use a shoe on multiple outfits I'll need to buy multiple shoes.
That's just my personal gripe with wands - nothing to do with mannequins.

but in my own personal opinion, i liked having themed rooms in ym house and would do themed outfits with the mannequins so i want them back for it. it also means u have outfits others can see without having to actually wear the clothes. i have so many outfits, please bring back the mannequins nintendo
In NL with my old Game of Thrones based town of Westeros, I had the armor on mannequins and had them as guards.
