.

On November 5th there will be a lot more to do again. lol.....

Whenever things kinda get "stale" for me I tear down a build and do something new.....or hunt a villager...... work on challenges, stuff like that.

Nah, you're not alone. ACNH 1. whatever doesn't have much in it compared to NL. Come November 5th things should be a lot better! If you really feel stuck maybe wait until then to pick it up again.

If you've only had the game for a month, perhaps there are aspects of the game you haven't tried or completed yet. You can work on catching all of the bugs and fish and diving creatures, earning lots of bells in various ways, getting photos from all of your villagers, decorating your house and Harv's island's house, decorating and terraforming your island, earning all of the Nook Miles stamps, just earning Nook Miles in general, breeding different colors of flowers, preparing for Halloween, collecting and crafting DIY recipes, gathering materials and other items on NMT islands, and probably other things that I've forgotten at the moment.

If you've done all of those things, or tried them and found they weren't for you, then, yeah, probably you should take a break and come back when the update is released. And if you want to make friends to visit, you're in the right place! TBT is super friendly, and there's a whole board just for visiting other people.

In just a month? If you play regularly as in day by day then you’ll be able to have unlocked terraforming half a month into playing roughly 15 days into the game and then you can proceed to terraform your island, fully upgrade your house and do the dailies to increase your DIY and items catalog so that you can have stuff to decorate. One month is very short to burn out from the game, Nooks Cranny doesn’t even upgrade until after 30 actual days of play. If you TT, there’s even more to stuff to do like participating in seasonal events and getting all the stuff in your catalog, completing seasonal DIYs, completing the museum etc.

I mean, it is a life simulation game based on real time, what did you expect? You collect furniture and clothes to make yourself and your island pretty. You interact with your villagers and enjoy your time with them. To be fair the old games had better villager interaction (and we'll get that in the new update too), but that didn't fundamentally change the game.

If you're that new to Animal Crossing, I think it's most easily compared to Stardew Valley. You have your area to decorate and rearrange to your heart's content. You set your own goals and try to achieve them. There's only so much the game can give you in terms of villager interaction because you can't write infinite dialogue. But once you feel done you already spent hundreds of hours in the game, which is more than most games give you.

But then again Animal Crossing always gives you that giant achievement list that takes at least a year to complete with seasonal collections and events. But the point of the game is not to finish your island and collect the ten photos of your villagers. The point is to exist and enjoy. As a kid I would constantly follow villagers around and see what they're up to, and their AI sucked back then.

Well, there's a lot of stuff to do on the game. Do you like something in particular? There's a pretty big update coming soon, but right now, this is an extremely concise summary:

Collect-a-thon stuff
The game features over 3,500 unique items/stuff to collect. In order to collect everything, you'll need to engage on different activities, meet all kinds of NPC, interact with your residents, gather resources, breed flowers, etc.

Progression stuff
There are around 6 upgrades to achieve for the buildings on your island and several NPCs you need to unlock after meeting certain requirements and your own house also has many upgrades to aim for. There's also all the Nook Miles Stamps, which offer "tangible" goals to achieve (and again, they require you to do all kinds of activities).

NPC interaction
You can become friends with your residents, by talking to them, listening to their conversations, gifting them presents, doing favors for them, etc. There's also 2 special NPCs you can also slowly become friends with.

Special events
There are around 9 major events throughout the year where you can enjoy different things from the normal day-to-day. There's also some smaller celebrations spread around and you can also participate on 8 bug/fish catching tournaments.

Building and decorating stuff
Your whole island is your canvas. Not only your house, literally all the island. You can choose to do whatever you want and strive to turn this land of mass into your ideal location.

And well, the general cozy gameplay loop of just relaxing while fishing or catching a bug, watching the various activities your residents perform, gathering up fruit, etc. It's a chill game overall, you can spend as much time as you want on it!

Not to sound like a Debbie downer but I only just got New horizons maybe a month or so ago & Maybe it’s because I’m 28 lol but it just seems like I have nothing to do in the game anymore lol.
There are a lot people much older than you and enjoying this game. I don't really believe it's age related and just designed to specific age group. One month it's really not a long time for a game like this. However, you may played one hour per day, but you may played 10 hours per day, it's hard to say.
As you said, you have nothing to do in the game anymore - but what have you done so far?

I don’t have anyone’s islands to visit but that’s a separate issue (all my friends old af and don’t play haha.. but like I login and basically all I’ve been doing right now is completing my mermaid collection.
You just described one activity, related to diving, collecting shells and completing mermaid collection. What about other bits?
For example designing island, your home, earning more money, learn new crafting ideas, visiting villagers, doing things for Nook Miles, planting and breeding flowers, terraforming and designing your island... and many more.

But other then that I feel kind of stagnant 🤷🏼‍♀️ Just like ran out of stuff to do and I’m sad about it haha. Any ideas on stuff I can do rn?!
Maybe we should ask you, what you want to do? Why you decided to buy ACNH? What was your expectations? And then will be possible to help you.

As someone already said this, it will be new content comming very soon, giving more things to do.

Anyway, you may want to visit (in the dream) other islands, maybe you will find inspirations, then start to find out how to achieve this and that.

I'm almost 27 and I still enjoy the game :) I haven't been playing it as much over summer, but I did play it for a solid 6-8 months while the updates were more frequent.

You have to set your own goals in sandbox games like animal crossing, for me I'm trying to make my island look mysterious, adventurous and/or kinda spooky and so I spend a lot of time trying to come up with ways to decorate to reflect that.

I'm also currently saving up nook miles for the new update as a lot of stuff is going to cost miles

Edit: woops spelling lol

I'm 34 and bought the game back in January because I wanted something leisurely to do when I was bored and like yourself after playing for a short while I got bored and that was before I unlocked terraforming. I took a small break from it and I think it was around Easter I fell in love with the game again and haven't looked back since. You have to remember there is no end goal to ACNH, it's a life simulation game that's played in real time and everyone who plays loves it for different reasons. Some are heavily into creating custom designs, some have modified switches and do a lot of online trading and others love to design islands from top to bottom with specific themes and then start over with a new theme once they're finished.

What is terraforming? If it’s too much to explain don’t worry about it! But thank you

At some point you unlock the ability to change the cliffs and create your own rivers and ponds and stuff, once your town is 5-stars you unlock it :)

Hi there! Just so that you are aware we do not close discussion threads by request.
ok! No problem I just wanted to delete it and I wasn’t sure how to. So there’s no way to stop comments on it or delete or anything?

We don't give users the option to do this, no. Other people are welcome to comment until the thread naturally sinks.
