Cosmic Canvas (Crews 1 & 2)

Lover's Light is a constellation that is said to only be visible to those who share true and pure love between each other.

On some planets, going out to try and find a view of it is part of the courting process or marriage ceremonies.
Of course, as a constellation it never actually moves, it just happens to only be viewable from certain locations on these planets.

The trick is that the Master of Ceremonies knows which places the stars can be viewed from and will direct couples that receive their blessing to the correct locations to search.

On some of the planets, however, while the belief still persists, the fact that anyone can view it from these locations is proof that all love is true in it's own way.

The Golden Key

Legend has it that a golden key existed a very long time ago. From what was known, it could open any kind of lock. However, while many had searched for this key, it had never been actually found.

When this constellation was discovered in the early 20th century, it was by a young man who believed that the key might be somewhere no one had ever been able to look ; in space. While the idea might have seemed absurd, it did not stop him from naming the constellation The Golden Key.

If you look to the left, you will see the amazing "Doggo" constellation. Legend has it that the feline goddess of space pirates would trick travelers into going the wrong direction when they spotted this particular constellation. Thus travelers in the distant past avoided the "Doggo" constellation. Today we know that story was all myth and fantasy, and we are confident that we will not lose our way...

overachiever
on a clear night, when the conditions are just right, look up to the sky and you may be able to spot the lonely overachiever drifting along through space. he had a dream, and it was simple: find the biggest possible balloon. unfortunately for him, he chose to achieve this goal with helium and is now doomed to spend the rest of his days surrounded by the stars, alone with his thoughts. make sure to wave!

✨✨The amazing duckling constellation 🦆 ✨✨

Legend has it that there was a rumour of a farm camp on a popular animal crossing forum. Space camp was announced and this resulted in a potential duck collectable being discarded and released into outer space.

On a clear night you can see mummy duck looking for her little ducklings glowing brightly in the night sky 🌌

@Mick edited, hope it’s ok. Thanks💜

Here is the glowing constellation of Catandfish. Legend says, this luminous formation of stars has been a guiding light for hungry cats for thousands of years. Apparently, this constellation has the ability to lead ravenous cats to their prey, during the dark of the night. All they have to do is look up and say "meow".

The Soaring Falcon
The constellation of the soaring falcon represents the feelings of those with skyhigh ambitions and yet unreached dreams, and those that have hopes and promises. When you discover this constellation in the nightsky, it is like a lucky sign, and might fill your heart with courage and lots of determination for your future path.

As you travel across the far reaches of the solar system, you'll be astounded at the jungle of stars that guide your journey. Though many constellations make up the radiant garden of your pathway to your homeland, the most foral fluorescent guide awaits you due southwest: the Lighted Lily. None other than the Lighted Lily constellation can remind you so fondly of the light fragrance of the botanical friends that populate earth's soil while beckoning you back home.

Messing around with the telescopes in the Observatory I couldn't help but notice this gigantic, familiar figure that seemed to draw itself in the starry sky before my very eyes. As I called a fellow crewmate to help me document it they just couldn't trace the constellation correctly.
I decided to take the matter in my own hands, "Let me do it for you", I instinctively said.
And just like that, I traced what would become our joint discovery, Canis Borzoium.
I can't help but think about the scientific strides that'll come from this finding.

Entries up to this point should be accepted! If I missed yours, let me know.

To the people below, I unfortunately couldn't accept your entries because they missed an aspect of the event prompt. Would you be able to post an new/updated version in this thread or send it to me directly? The reasons for your entries not being accepted are listed below. Thank you!

Snake of Many Names

Across the night sky for all to see is the majestic snake constellation. Depending on the culture, snakes have been seen as symbols of rebirth, immortality, transformation, guardians, wisdom, and sometimes death and destruction. Others have worshiped them as gods and or in a spiritual sense. So it was only fitting that such a benevolent creature had been immortalized in the stars for all to stare in awe.

The Snake of Many Names watches all life and keeps order over the cosmos.

The Lone Wolf
For thousands of years it has been believed that wolves like to howl at the moon at night. Experts have been hiding the truth.. The real reason wolves like to howl at night is because they see The Lone Wolf constellation shining bright and think they can call him down to earth to be with them.

Both of these entries follow the event prompt, but are missing your name tags!

The Cetacean Constellation

View attachment 501111

This forgotten sign of the zodiac was first discovered by fisherman crossing the Beluga Sea. They interpreted the constellation as a blessing from long lost soles and other fish. The constellation is home to space whales which patrol the outer reaches of the galaxy, feeding on dark matter and space shrimp.

This entry seems to be made exclusively of curved/rounded lines. We are looking for constellations that are made by directly connecting the stars.

They look cute! But for an entry to count, it needs to be drawn by connecting the existing stars on the image.

My brain is really fried. I guess this is what happens when I get 3 hours of sleep everyday. I really though I remembered my username lol. My apologies. Here is the revised version.

Dracarys

The legend of Dracarys states that any who share an even a drop of dragon blood can see him in the heavens. Those fortunate enough to share this genealogy can sometimes even see the fire he can wield while those who do not only see “comets” or “shooting stars”. Legend has it that he was immortalized in the galaxy when his true love perished so that he could always keep an eye out for when she would be reborn.

(Guys, I originally saw Bowser, but when I started connecting the dots it became this instead, so maybe I have a drop of dragon blood myself 😉 )

By the way, I also did not have Internet yesterday, so I did this completely, and totally in Photos by edit drawing so please, please forgive its lack of professionalism, which I really don’t have an ways of digital anyways.

Thank u!!! Yep, the Puppy chewed through our Internet wire yesterday and we had to wait for the new one to come in so I couldn’t upload on my tablet or anything so trying to connect those tiny little diet zooming in as far as I could zoom prove to be very, very tedious.

Yeah. I think she’s got her adult teeth coming in and hubs wasn’t watching her very well. Luckily, the new cord came in and we were able to completely redo it so that she cannot get to it. Naughty naughty girl!!!!

Ah, this must be the uhhh... great cosmic fossil, yes! It's real and I'm totally not stretching! Legend has it that the stars connecting it are actually the essence of majestic creatures of times past, glowing ever stronger with the pass of time. Perhaps some day in the far future, when we disappear from the face of earth, we may also come to join them in the stars.

If my calculations are correct, doing a loop-the-loop around this constellation wouldn't directly take us home but it would be really cool!

This is the lady in the night's sky constellation. Legend has it a Virgo woman's soul was embodied in the sky as a navigation tool for sailors and travelers to never get lost again. It can only be seen on clear nights after a full moon, only those who are truly devoted to astrology may seek it.
I'm sorry I cant come with anything good and can't write descriptions to save my life lol
