The streets are dirty, buildings vandalized. All domestic animals have been mutated and are extremely dangerous. Out in the country people can still farm animals to produce food and water distilleries are being run by the older ones.

Welcome to the apocalypse. In the year 2017, an extremely dangerous virus was released into the environment. All adults are dead. Three years after, the world is ruled by young adults and teenagers. Billions of people died all over the world. The virus was nicknamed The Virus by the survivors, some of which are now 21. One of the small benefits of the virus was that it got rid of all terminal illnesses. Domestic animals have been mutated and are extremely dangerous.

Bj?rn looked out of the window of one of the few nice apartments remaining in town. A town who's population shrunk from nearly 200,000 to just 3,000 in a matter of weeks, and saw a girl with a face he couldn't make out. He hadn't seen another human being in weeks, and had an urge to talk to her. He climbed down the ladder outside of his third-floor flat and walked up to the girl. "Konnichiwa?" he said, nervous, just realizing he had spoke in Japanese. "Um, I mean, hello?"

I jumped slightly, a little startled by the voice behind me. I turned to face the boy who spoke. "Hi. You speak Japanese?" I asked, Suprised that there was anyone around that could speak in another language besides myself.

-----Bj?rn-----

"Yeah, do you?" Bj?rn asked, slightly nervous. He didn't think anyone else would be able to.

---Lisanna---
"Yeah, I had a couple of Japanese relatives, so I learned it when I was quite young. I've never actually been to Japan though, unfortunately," I explained. "Oh, I'm Lisanna by the way, though most people just call me Lisa. Well, they used to anyway. Before the virus killed off most people around here..."

Bj?rn smiled. "I lived in Japan for a couple years. I was born in Norway, though." He thought about the virus. "My mom was one of the very last people to die. Her body almost mutated, but it couldn't handle it like most people. She died after seven weeks of getting infected. My dad died straight away."

---Lisanna---
"Both of my parents died pretty much straight away..." I said quietly, remembering their faces as they both died in front of me. I shook my head slightly, ridding myself of that thought. "I've always wanted to visit Japan, but I never really had the chance."

-----Bj?rn-----
"Shall we stop talking about that?" He said sharply. His fist unclenched and his pin fell onto the floor. He pretended not to notice as he didn't want the girl noticing. "I never asked your name," Bj?rn muttered.

-----Bj?rn-----
Bj?rn smiled. "Do you want a room to sleep in? I have a spare. Or do you already have a home here?" he asked.

---Lisanna---
"Thanks for the offer, but I'm good. I've been stay in one of the apartments in the building a few streets along," I replied. He seemed like quite a kind person.

---Lisanna---
"Yeah, in the apartment building at the end of there," I answered. "Um, how many different languages do you speak? So far I know that you speak at least three..."

-----Bj?rn-----
"The apartments there are terrible," he said dismissively. "Oh, I speak seven. Norwegian, English, German, Japanese, Danish, Russian, and Swedish. Come live with us, I have plenty of room. I'll help you move your stuff." He didn't know what it was about Lisanna, he just liked her a lot.

---Lisanna---
"Uh, sure..." I replied, unsure of how I should react to someone I had just met letting me move into where he lived. "I don't really have much stuff. I don't spend very much time indoors doing things that require stuff, I'd rather be outside. And wow, seven languages... I only speak two...."
