A few suggestions

1) When are Gyroids gonna become default? We've already had a bunch of members say they wanted it.
2) Since sages are gone and one of their privileges were birthdays on calendars, why not make it so that members can have their birthday on calendars, whether it be at a certain post count or whatever.
3) While I'm suggesting things, make this a smiley. I mean we have Egnorth. BD

As for making the Gyroids the default smilies, I say no. They're really annoying, and people'll just spam them like crazy "because they're cool".

Actually, i like both smileys, and think it should stay the way it is so it satisfies the people who like the gyroids and/or the smileys.

Well you need to realize this is an AC forum, and that we need to trust our peers (members) to not spam the gyroids. And if it does happen than consequences should be used.

The gyroid smiles are good but they are a bit sloppy and don't express emotions as well as the default ones, which are great IMO, and don't need to be changed.
